From tap at Berkeley location. Pours dark deep orange with a small white head. Aroma is light fruity. Mild hoppy dry flavoured. Vague bittering note. Dry and flat malty into a dry finish. Dry malty and subdued fruity note into the finish. Simple and somewhat boring. fiulijn (20492) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - APR 14, 2006
Hazy amber color. Nice fruity aroma: mango and peach. The body is not very strong, anyway it’s quite malty, and the bitterness is pleasant, the hop partially fruity and aromatic. Easy but enjoyable. Oakes (17668) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 18, 2001
For Seattle, this one is a little light, but it is still a well-made and enjoyable pint. On tap, this is called Best Bitter. bhensonb (15191) - Woodland, California, USA - JUN 6, 2006
Deep redish amber color; little head. Aroma is mildly hoppy, a bit citrusy, and a hint of malt. Flavor is primarily malt, with some matching bitterness. Fruit is more grapefruit than other. More like a hoppy amber than a standard American pale. Good carbonation. Swishing makes it chewy/creamy. The finish is grapefruit bitter. Took a while to get there. Very drinkable. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - MAY 30, 2003
Hazy copper body topped by small beige head. Aroma is floral, moderately sweet, berry, light caramel. Taste is hoppy, fairly sweet, and slightly acidic, finishing floral bitter. Medium body.

"not a bad ale. it’s nice to get something other than a wheat beer from them. it doesn’t separate itself, but does the standard well, and therefore is a little better than average."

Crystal clear copper-coloured beer with a thin off-white head. Sweet caramel malt and citrusy grapefruity hops. The flavour is also sweet with a spicy character and a bitter finish. Well-balanced. 3fourths (9345) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - JAN 13, 2004
Dark copper color with a very large head which clings to the glass for a long time. Nose is a musty, nutty Fall-like hop aroma. Pale and bland throughout with some old apple and pear flavor, and a bit of biting hops towards the end. Drinkable but not very flavorful. bb (9268) - Alamo, California, USA - MAR 30, 2014
