2009 Bottle - Pours a light and thin amber with little off white head...aroma is faint grass and grain, a little lager skunk...flaovur is light grain, yeast...finishes with a weird caustic metalic flavour that fucks this brew...bad bottle maybe? marcus (10326) - Sacramento, California, USA - FEB 20, 2009
This amber ale poured with a massive off-white head that bubble away pretty quickly. There is a grassy aroma and a bready hop bitterness, with some spice at the finish. bb (9519) - Alamo, California, USA - FEB 19, 2009
Draft. Amber beer with an off-white head. Mineral, malt, and light hop aroma. Malt, mineral, and light spice flavor. Medium bodied. Malt and mineral tones linger with spice and some hops. beerinmarch (2830) - Washington, USA - FEB 16, 2009
From the bottle pours darker amber with a thin white head. Cereal and toasted malts in the nose, mild hops. Lightly sweet up front finishing rather bitter. Smooth palate, but overall very lackluster. Similar to an alt up front in the malts, but not quite to that depth of maltiness, but the hops finish a touch to bitter for that. bhensonb (15338) - Woodland, California, USA - FEB 13, 2009
Bottle from Berkeley that did not twist off. Sam Adams glass. Nice coppery amber color with a multifinger, fine off-white head. Mildly bready and mildly hoppy for aroma. Full bodied with creamy carbonation. Flavor is lightly sweet with some offsetting noble hop. A very good lager. Surprising, coming from me.

Bottle, twist off. Pours medium copper, large offwhite head. Nose has quite a bit of spicy hop to it, and a little bready biscuit. Taste is definitely biscuit, followed by a bit of sweet malt and a relatively bitter finish. Very light watery mouthfeel despite high carbonation. I don’t think this beer has enough malt backbone for the flavors in it. While not awful, not recommended. glkaiser (1214) - Seattle, Washington, USA - FEB 12, 2009
Clear copper with good sized white head. Light toasty malt aroma. Taste is more light toasted malts with a good bitterness, but minimal hop flavor. Decent. Not sure if it wants to be a lighter beer or something that really peaks your interest. spikester (606) - Salem, Oregon, USA - FEB 11, 2009
Pours amber with a one finger white head. No lacings detected. Aroma is pungent floral hops. Taste is very malty with a good bitter hop balance. I too agree with the Marzen taste profile. Mouthfeel is very good with a slightly bitter finish. A bit high abv for a session beer but I could drink a few at one sitting.

22 oz bottle. Pour a medium dark amber with a slightly off whitehead. Aroma of malt with a little caramel. Crisp palate with good malt taste with a little bit of hops hinting through. Overall a very tasty lager. Snojerk321 (2960) - San Diego, California, USA - FEB 7, 2009
12oz bottle from BevMo! Mission Valley. A clear medium amber pour with a 1 finger off white head. Pretty much your standard amber lager, toasted malts and a touch of hops.......ok.
