Bottle:   Deep amber, on the reddish side, small to moderate frothy white head, spotty lacing.   Light biscuit, somewhat dark bready notes.   Similar tongue, even a bit of soft cocoa in there and also toasted malts.   Slightly astringent, body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Slightly chalky finish, malty, bready, some toasted malts, mild sweetness.   Pretty pedestrian, but not bad. bpreo (3011) - Eugene, Oregon, USA - OCT 13, 2013
5.2% alcohol content. Very grainy. Tastes kind of like tomato juice. Overall a good flavor. riversideAK (6265) - Shoreline, Washington, USA - JAN 10, 2013
Sweet notes of caramel toast rye and pepper. Pours amber with a thin white head. Flavors of rye up front toasted bread, caramel, and peppery bitterness. Sweet rye grain and spice linger in the finish. Smooth with good body and solid carbonation.
