What a great beer this is! Talk about a mouthful! You almost have to chew this stuff! Very malty with moderate hops. Maintains an intense dark roasted, semi-burnt malt flavor. Extremely rich and very smooth texture. Alcohol level is evident just at the right amount. Late palate is somewhat of a biscuity taste, followed by a very long bittersweet finish. This would never sell here in FL. It has too much flavor.

the dark amber reddish color was awsome, it was worth the buy just to look at it, quality

I really liked this beer. I didn't realize it was intended to be a barley wine as the previous review states. I drank it as a holiday ale, and really enjoyed it. Very rich, dark, balanced, and just all around good stuff.

Underrated amongst NW barley wines. Probably too subtle for all those hopheads.

Last year's offering was not as good as previous, but a nice winter ale.....
