2006 bottle. Pours medium bodied with clear, dark mahogony color with small tan head. Interesting aroma of lavender, sour cherry and white chocolate.Floral sweet palate quickly shifts to a chocolate, burnt toffee and tosted flowers. DallasBryan (111) - Dallas, Texas, USA - JAN 24, 2003

Daaark brown, with 3 finger frothy off white head. Get big hops up front, sweetness in the middle, then the hop bite at the end. This is on the very verge of being too bitter for me. would prefer the sweetness be a little more than it is. actually pretty suprised by how bittern this one is, considering how dark the beer was, just visually it looked like a bigger beer. For me, this is not even close to being to being near the top for its style. tturner (111) - , Washington, USA - JAN 22, 2009
almost ascetic bitter finish. Some sweet up front. light overall. good with food. shanepardue (110) - Raytown, Missouri, USA - DEC 29, 2007
Dark brown, bitter to the core and delicious. This one hits hard on the bitter side and ends with a alcohol aftertaste. Tastes very good!

Excellent dark red amber when poured, nice frothy white head. Strong hints of fruit with a little bit of coffee taste near the end. Alcohol is quite apparent during the aftertaste. Aroma is that of fruit giving way to coffee. Not bad overall, but not quite what I had expected. A little disappointed with this one. Expected more. troysworktable (109) - Washington, USA - JAN 27, 2007
12 ounce bottle. Pour leaves a dark brown ale with a half-inch tan head. The aroma is rich caramel, slight chocolate, mild spices. Pseudo-chocolate flavor on initial draught is almost instaneously replaced with a slightly bitter "wet wood bark" flavor. The "wet wood bark" is not as overpowering as Snow Plow, but is not altogether pleasant, either. Slight disconnect between the aroma and the flavor. If the flavor were just slightly adjusted this might be somewhat good. The flavor did increase slightly over the course of my meal, so perhaps this was a bad bottle... sistinas (108) - Mountain View, California, USA - OCT 30, 2006
Bottle. Pours dark brown with something resembling a small head - it disappeared so quickly I’m not sure it was even there. Smells of malts and prunes with some other sweet fruitiness. Tastes about the same with some sourness and astringency towards the end. Medium-heavy body. Not bad, nothing special. sja14 (108) - Ohio, USA - DEC 27, 2008
Nice holiday beer. Fruity and malty with a nice balance. Spices are noticeable. HoppedHead (106) - seattle, Washington, USA - JUN 27, 2002
A true winter warmer, dark amber color from raosted malts also lend to the rich malty flavor, fruit/floral hop flavor and enough kick to keep you warm on the coldest day on the slopes!
