One of my favorite winter brews. Smell is nice, not to overpowering, however, it is lacking. But take a swig and bam, what a taste. You feel carbonation as it hits your toungue and the roof of your mouth. Swallow and a fruity tang forms in your mouth. This beer leaves a wonderful bitter, nutty aftertaste that lingers for quite some time. Excellent brew. Beerly There (26) - Oregon, USA - NOV 4, 2004
One of the better winter seasonal brews produced in the Pacific Northwest. Nice dark mahogany color. Small white head. Spicy aroma. The taste is malty, somewhat spicy with (for this part of the world) understated hops. A good beer for a cold, rainy day. AlchemistZ (493) - Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA - NOV 25, 2004
UPDATED: DEC 1, 2005 Dark brown with a ruby hue and a moderately thin, cream-colored head. Malty, chocolate-like, dark cherries, some raisins, some earthy hops, fudge, Christmas spice cake, and caramel aroma. Flavor is like a dark chocolate covered cherry with a spicy bite of cinnamon in the background. Good sweetness on the palate is balanced by a nice, underpinning and non-distractive acidity that extends the finish nicely and just a touch of alcohol. 2006/ Pours dark brown w/ a shallow spritzy froth. Aroma is sweet w/ malted molasses. Medium to full nectar w/ ample residual effers. Flavors are very brown w/ a spicey roasted coffee bean essence. Malty w/ a defined hop character. I also picked up on some caramel apple. Perfect bittering. This is a nice brew. Highly recommended. jezmez68 (404) - Chesterton, Indiana, USA - DEC 26, 2006
Nice winter ale. Doesn’t come off as a stout with spices. Beautiful mahogany color. Flavor is strong, but not as overpowering as a stout. Very hoppy, nice spices.

Pours a very dark , red-brown. Almost 3 finger head, light brown, which lingers for most of the beer. Hint of chocolate and very thick tasting. SPDickerman (1239) - Texas, USA - MAR 22, 2012
Pours dark mahogany with a small yellowish tan head. Smells like toasted bread, hints of caramel and toffee, and maybe caramelized or candied raisins. Taste is bitter up front and then moves to what is almost like a candied, rum soaked raisin and hints of toffee. Full-bodied with a smooth texture and mild mouth-carbonation, Pyramid Snow Cap Ale finishes with a bit of lingering bitterness. Miamibeachlira (3) - Florida, USA - FEB 5, 2013 does not count
Delicious ... So under rated it

Hearty aroma is mainly yeasty and fruity with a malty underpinning. It pours a clear, dark, bubbly chestnut with a very thick and frothy pale wheat head that sticks around for quite a while. Strong flavor has firm malty, hoppy and fruity notes plus yeasty and subtle spicy (mainly cloves) and woody tones. Very hearty, enjoyable and pleasing! Smooth texture has good body and fizz. Labeled a winter warmer, but fine any time of year.
