Growler from Beer Junction. Pours medium reddish brown with thin creamy mocha head. Aroma is roasty malts with sweetish fig notes. Taste is big caramel malts followed by equal parts sticky sweetness and earthy bitter hops. Could stand to be a little less watery. Fig and raisin notes as this warms. I wouldn’t call this a double Snow Cap, but close. Definitely richer, bigger, and hoppier. Pretty hard to find too, which of course makes it more appealing. poisoneddwarf (2511) - Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho, USA - DEC 17, 2011
Sample on draft. Pours cloudy burgandy with a large beige head that lasts forever; leaves nice lace. Aroma is caramel, raisins, boozy...inviting. Taste is malty sweet but not cloying and a little tart; leaves a somewhat bitter taste in the mouth after swallow. This was really good. I don’t know if it’s because I was on the job and got a free sample--free beer always seems to raise anyone’s spirits--or what, but this seems to be underrated on here. I was very much pleased with it. rayOfBeer (674) - El Cerrito, California, USA - NOV 19, 2011
From tap dark brown small head. Aroma is malty with floral peachy hops. Flavor has malt with a lot of peachy floral hops which kind of over-powers all else. Not a favorite of mine, prefer regular snowcap BrewDad (5328) - Olympia, Washington, USA - AUG 3, 2011

Draft. Blackish beer with a light tan head. Rich malt and light toffee aroma. Caramel and toffee flavor with light chocolate. Medium-plus bodied. Toffee and caramel lingers with light chocolate and light roast.

Draught. Poured dark cloudy red with medium fast dissipating white head. Light malty and caramel aroma. Medium to full body, Roasty malt notes. Malty finish. Good if you come across it. Doesn’t taste as strong as it is. joeneugs (6371) - Livermore, California, USA - DEC 28, 2010
On tap at Petes brass rail. It pours a muddy red/brown color with an orange/ brown head. The aroma is very fruity with hints of plums, raisins, and peaches. The flavor is rich and malty with sweet peaches, prunes, caramel, and a little bit of a spicy finish. Mild bitterness. Kind of simple for a barleywine. marcus (10222) - Sacramento, California, USA - DEC 14, 2010
