4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Growler from Beer Junction. Pours medium reddish brown with thin creamy mocha head. Aroma is roasty malts with sweetish fig notes. Taste is big caramel malts followed by equal parts sticky sweetness and earthy bitter hops. Could stand to be a little less watery. Fig and raisin notes as this warms. I wouldn’t call this a double Snow Cap, but close. Definitely richer, bigger, and hoppier. Pretty hard to find too, which of course makes it more appealing.
Bottle from Safeway in Redwood City, CA. Aroma is canned dark fruit in syrup, spiced dark cherry pie filling, prunes, brown sugar, sweet malts, hazelnuts. Taste is malty with spiced dark fruits, prunes. Finishes with a slightly spicy, bitter hop note. Really enjoyed the dark fruit pie filling / canned fruit vibes on this one. donandres (527) - Bayombong, PHILIPPINES - JUL 6, 2016

(Backlog) Bottle pour at home, dark amber pour. Nice smooth flavor, definitely like this one over the regular. cobaink2 (688) - seattle, Washington, USA - JAN 21, 2016
Figs cinnamon and brown sugar are dominating. A little caramel to round things out. It's an average beer. Somehow I remember this being so much better as a small batch from

Mini-growler from the 16th St Albertsons... Pours chestnut brown with a nice khaki head.. Dry dark toast and nice cocoa essence.. hints of fruity dark cherries are in the background.. Good medium/light thick body.. Good bubble.. Light hints of EtOH.. Textbook piney hops with well rounded maltiness for a PNW Winter Warmer.
Is this really the "super" version? It is remarkably similar to the standard bottle version that I buy a couple every year.

Growler rom Albertsons. Dark brown pour with nice medium fluffy head. Heads lasts and leaves curtains of lacing. Aroma is dark malt, nuts and bit of prunes. Taste brings more malt, with the bitterness coming from the roast, not the hops. The malt masks the ABV well, not even catching any warmth. Smooth and silky with a small bite. kaser (6312) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - DEC 6, 2014
Tastes like a bushel of prunes. And grape juice hi-c. Brown with white head. Poured from a bottle at Delilahs Christmas tasting. andrewje41 (3879) - Kenmore, Washington, USA - MAY 23, 2014
Draft at the brewery. Pours really dark. Tan cream head. Sweet plum aroma. Dark fruit taste with some plum and raisin. Finishes with bold, dark fruit with a slight hop finish. Pretty good. jjgmd (2161) - Coral Springs, Florida, USA - DEC 17, 2013
