This was a classy IPA. Not too bitter but great balance. Recommended. Verne (263) - Enumclaw, Washington, USA - JAN 19, 2003
Medium bodied typical northwest micro brew hops light on the aroma heavy on the bitterness. Malty enough but the malt loses to the hops. A good everyday beer Crit (3996) - Surrey, British Columbia, CANADA - JAN 3, 2003
Hazy pale amber, creamy head.Tight bead. Citrus hop nose.Good balanced hop profile with long finish. hvac4sl (30) - Dowling, Michigan, USA - DEC 28, 2002
Crystal clear, golden colored, with a thin little head. Smells slightly of hops. Taste is thin and bitter, with no malt taste. Overall I think that this beer could be much better with a little higher ending S.G.(more sweetness). erway (1004) - Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA - DEC 26, 2002
Pours light straw color with a bubbly head. Very hoppy from the nose on through to the finish. Not enough malt backgroungd to support the abundance of hops. A good IPA but could be a lot better.

Thin watery mouthfeel makes for an easy drinking brew with a nice dry hoppy finish, but just lacking in overall quality. Respectable brew all the same. prpplague (247) - Euless, Texas, USA - DEC 14, 2002
full rich aroma that dosn’t fade.thin head with no lace at all. clear golden-orange color. the taste is sweet with a strong hop finish. call me crazy, but this fits in my book more like a marzen than a IPA. it was enjoyable none the less. heykevin (1281) - Decorah, Iowa, USA - DEC 11, 2002
Quite pale in color and cloudy, with a thin head. Grapefruity with a thin bitterness. Not a lot of body to this beer or sweetness to counteract the bitterness. Fine, but low on my list of hoppy friends. Nuffield (4171) - Roseville, Minnesota, USA - NOV 27, 2002
UPDATED: JUN 9, 2006 Peachy-golden color, nice overall feel in the mouth. I’m not a fan of the IPAs but I like an English strong ale, so the bits of grapefruit and later grape aroma popping through were nice. The bitterness builds over time, though a bit harsh in the finish. A palatable IPA to my taste. // Re-rate (June 2006)--after another bottle, I was particularly pleased about the intensity and vivacity of the fruitness upfront. The grapefruit is as vivid as I’ve tasted in any IPA, like whole chunks of grapefruit. The end result left me a little dry in the mouth, but there were things to enjoy here. austinpowers (2828) - San Francisco, California, USA - NOV 1, 2002
No attempt at balance (the malt was left behind at the brewery somewhere). Considerably bitter and verging on an Imperial IPA. Nice, but unchallenging. Believe it or not, I’ll take their Apricot Ale instead.
