Draught as a 5 oz sampler at Pyramid in Sacramento, CA, on April 23, 2011
Clear deep golden color, white head. Soem hops at first, but then mainly dry bitter taste. Hints of fruits in the aftertaste. Way too bitter. Smooth mouthfeel, huge bitterness. Sweet and a bit hoppy scent.
Unbalanced and not for me.

jercraigs (10875) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 17, 2008
2008-10-14. Hazy golden orange, modest off-white head. (3+) Modest aroma, light resin and green vegetation. (6+) Pretty mild flavour, modest bitterness throughout, light resin and hop character. (6+) Average plus palate. A decent pale ale, but a fairly weak IPA. Bottle via trade with mgermani

12 ounce bottle from backlog notes 07/08. Pours a clear golden amber color with a medium sized white head. The aroma and flavor have pale malts, mild caramel, light resiny and citrus hops, lightly toasted bread, a general bitterness to the finish, medium bodied. A very average ipa.

marcus (10668) - Sacramento, California, USA - JAN 6, 2010
Pours golden with a decent off-white head and pineish (is that a real word?) aroma. It’s light on caramel malt, but heavy on the hops. So what you have is a bitter but lackluster beer.

DuffMan (10664) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - AUG 17, 2008
A solid rep of the style, with a slighty soapy character to the dominant cascade profile, and a shorter-than-average finish. Nice bitterness though.

phaleslu (10652) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUN 30, 2009
Had a pint at Palomino in downtown Cincinnati. Golden-orange pour. Mild aroma, hoppy with a little citrus. Gave the impression of a fairly straightforward IPA until I actually drank it. Very poor IPA overall; tasted as if an unpleasant chemical were added that afternoon. Somewhat bitter with no reward. Unnatural aftertaste. Disappointing- easily the worst Pyramid beer I’ve tasted.

GT (10017) - San Diego, California, USA - OCT 12, 2008
Pours almost yellow with little head and low carbonation. Very bitter and unbalanced from the hops. But the hops is not smooth or citrusy or enjoyable. It is almost like chewing on raw hops buds. Aftertaste is similarly raw hops and very bitter and lingering. I would say too low gravity and too many IBUs.

3.2
bb (9789) - Alamo, California, USA - MAY 25, 2004
Bottle. Amber colored beer with a medium white head. Aroma of pine and citrus, but not as much as many IPA’s. Body tingles a bit and has some carbonation. Flavor has a rich malt backbone with a nice bitterness to it that lingers - otherwise your typical tar and citrus with a hint more of the alcohol. Not bad - and probably their best beer, but there are better breweries.

mabel (9787) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 13, 2009
[1774-20081014] 355mL bottle. Mild woody sweat aroma with mild heather grasses. Hazy, medium orange brown body with a medium-lasting foamy off-white head. Woody hops flavour has some grassy hops and bitter lemon pips. Medium body is fairly bitter. Nice, drinkable, hoppy.
