Appearance was clear orangish root beer with creamy off white lasting 1 finger head, lacing throughout. Aromas are cirtus, pine, wheat, spices upfront with simi-sweet malt lurking inside. Taste was pine, grapefruit, orange, lemon, slight wheat, malt backbone is sublte. Palate was creamy smooth CO2 with meduim body. The average length piney resinous finish a tad bitter for me. Little to much resin... bb (9790) - Alamo, California, USA - JUN 29, 2012
Bottle. Amber beer with a light tan head. Malt and light pine aroma. Grapefruit and woodsy flavor with light malt. Medium bodied. OK bitterness. Grapefruit and woodsiness linger with light pine and light malt. ngeunit1 (1555) - Waltham, Massachusetts, USA - JUN 9, 2012
A - Pours an almost clear copper-orange with a finger of frothy slightly off-white head. The head fades down at a normal pace leaving behind some light lace.
S - Aroma is a mix orange and grapefruit hops with some pine hops and some sweet bready malts.
T - Starts off with some sweet bready malts with some pine and resiny hops. Through the middle, some light grapefruit hops come through with some more grassy hop and some bitterness with a bit of caramel malts. The finish is a mix of pine and grapefruit hops, some light bitterness, with some sweet caramel and biscuit malts.
M - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Feels smooth with a dry and bitter finish.
D - Very drinkable. Pretty good balance. Good hop and malt balance. 5000 (6900) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - MAY 10, 2012
Bottle: Amberish, fairly clear, thin frothy off-white head, fairly nice lacing. Soft pithy nose, a bit of hop but its subdued. Not detecting the wheatiness, but compared to the pithiness it may not be too noticeable. Hmm, an interesting citrusy hoppiness right up front. Surprised its this citrusy. I expected more of a wheatiness, in flavor and body but that is not to be found. Backside is loaded with pith and citrus rind like hop flavors. While not overly hoppy, it has a mild bitterness. Really not sure what part the "Wheaten" plays in this, but its minor. Body and mouthfeel are moderate. Very pithy on the finish, with mild citrus like bitterness. Not half bad, but if I were to say that this was a well balanced Wheat IPA I would be lying. Its certainly on the IPA side. Respectable at least. jake65 (4033) - Meridian, Idaho, USA - MAY 8, 2012
Bottle: Pale copper color, really quite clear contrary to what I’d expected. Creamy beige head and lots of sticky sheets of lacing. Mild aroma is dry and grassey, seemingly dusty. Tastes crisp with floral hops, grassey, and dry wheat.
