Very interesting style. From the capital of weizen consumption a very important recipe. Full body , aromatic from high fermentation. Very sweet , smooth. Fruity , a lot of banana. Good balanced. Vanilla and butter. Intensive and persistant. Concurrence for the belgian stong ales.

Heidelbeer (41) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - MAR 7, 2017
UPDATED: MAR 7, 2017 Creamy dense white to off white medium to big sized almost long lasting head. Beer is murky hazy golden. Aroma is quite but not overwhelmingy intense. Banana, sour dough bread, yeast and somehow fresh. Not spicy but overall good and promising. Taste is medium sweet, banana, yeasty, wheaty, some honey, slightly sour with a medium to long lasting finish, no bitterness. Mouthfeel is creamy with a soft and nice carbonation. Alcohol is well hidden. Very drinkable and recommendable. Though it?s not better than my favorites Weizenbocks from Weihenstephan and Ayinger.

Golden with almost no head. Aroma of honey nectarine very sweet with a hint of sugary booze. Similar taste. Not much carbonation. Sugary grainy and syrupy. Heavy beer but much of the flavor, sadly, fades too quickly. Tasty with it’s fruitiness, but compared to Weihenstephan or Ayinger it leans too much toward bock bier and not a weizenfor me. But the fruitiness is really nice. Also the bottle has a twist cap and I wonder if this affected the carbonation. It’s already a thick brew and without some bubbles it’s even heavier. Nice but expected something else.

0.5l bottle. Hazy, golden body, white head. Aroma and taste of banana, peach and honey. Not super complex, but still very nice.

*Old rating. Best before 21.08.11. Intensiv hefiger, schön milder Weitenbock. Fruchtig-malzig, weiche bananige Hefe, rund und gut.

0,5 Flasche aus einem lokalen Getränkemarkt. Orange- bis mandarinenfarbenes Bier mit cremiger Schaumkrone. Riecht fruchtig, hefig, bananig. Schmeckt ölig, fruchtig-erfrischend, karamellig, bananig, hefig, brotig.

9/10/11/11/11/12

lusikka (7814) - Tampere, FINLAND - JUL 22, 2013
500 ml bottle, thanks Timo A. Pours a cloudy bright yellow colour with a white head. Aroma of wheat, caramel, bubblegum and grass. Flavour is rather sweet with caramel, bubblegum, grains, grass, tart citrus and honey-like oily notes. Medium bodied, soft carbonation and a sweet, only slightly tart finish. Good.
