Draft at Listermann (March ’13). Pours a hazy golden color with a medium sized white head. The aroma and flavor have the Belgian blond character of the base beer. Belgian yeast, lightly fruity and lightly herbal with the addition of the nice barrel character, rum and gin influences, some sweetness. This is definitely a case where the barrel has improved upon the base beer. DrSilverworm (9671) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAR 12, 2013
On tap at Triple Digit’s 1st anniversary party. Clear amber color. Little white head. Good big rum-gin barrel component. Big rum-spice wood, some banana in the nose. Decent lace. Bigger body. Light carbonation, some Belgian yeast funk from the golden base still there behind the big barrel. Sweet taste, spice, some alcohol warmth. Impressive barrel-aged beer. Huge rum-gin barrel influence. Probably the biggest gin-influence from any beer I’ve ever had, which regardless of how you feel about gin... is at least interesting. Bit of a boozy bite, but the rum-gin complements the belgian golden well. Nice one to savor. b3shine (8925) - Indiana, USA - JAN 21, 2013
Draft to taster at Listermann. Looks good; a semi-transparent golden orange with foamy off-white head that dissipates into lacing. Smells good too; sweet with Belgium yeast notes and nice barrel notes of both gin and rum. Tastes like it smells with a good mouthfeel. Excellent stuff!
