Pours a black coffee color with little head.....aroma of wood chips, dark chocolate, hint of black coffee......taste is touch thin, coffee grounds, lactose hints, slight bittering finishing clean. While technically an ale because of the yeast it's a porter. Fairly well done at that. AmericanMaiden (1) - Indiana, USA - JUN 22, 2017 does not count
I found a delicious and smooth ale , that I really enjoyed at The Garage Pub & Grill while visiting family in Columbus, IN. It was just as I had asked it to be Tall , Dark and with quite a Handsome head !
Perfectly Strong and Satisfying . I enjoyed it thoroughly .
Well done BigWoods of Nashville, IN.

I actually work for this company in the original brewbup bigwoods location, and ive had this beer on many ocastions and ive never understood its popularity and why people like it so much. Im not a fan of it. MrBeerFanatic (1076) - Indianapolis, Indiana, USA - FEB 26, 2017
Dark brown creamy head. Aromas olive, wood, smoke, vanilla slight pepsi. Flavors light smoke, olive, wood, light wood. Dry light bitter finish. I little on the dry side for my taste of porters. koleminer20 (4261) - Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA - FEB 7, 2017
On draft at HopCat a Indianapolis. Thanks work! The pour is a nice black color with a thick ring of khaki head and no lace as it falls. It looks fantastic for a porter. Much like Founders Porter. The aroma is very light. There is a touch of roast, a hint of chocolate and just the slightest bit of metallic malt. It’s really faint and hardly there. Big bummer. The flavor is much of the same. The roasted malt and the chocolate are a little more prevalent with a much stronger metallic malt behind it. There is more light flavors, but it’s not that great. The mouth feel is watery and thin with a very light carbonation and a lingeringly metallic malt and chocolate finish. Poured good, failed everywhere else.

Draft sample at HopCat Indy. Pours dark brown to black in color with a small beige head. The aroma and flavor have roasted malt, dark chocolate, some caramel sweetness, earthy bitterness, decent porter. rondphoto (4552) - Lakeside Park, Kentucky, USA - JUL 20, 2016
bottle @ Keg Liquors / Clarksville IN --- Aroma of toasted malt. Opaque brown / black color, tan head that drops to a thin cover, wide streaks of lace. Taste is lightly toasted malt that has mild carbonation on the swallow, then grows significantly to a chocolate hopped finish. Smooth, yet complex and balanced, quite good! I’d have this again. bnokk (548) - Lee, Massachusetts, USA - MAY 28, 2016
APPEARANCE- looks super black at first, but actually dark brown. Head is creamy and dark in color.
NOSE- a bit of carmely sweetness, but overall not much to it.
FLAVOR- clean drinking porter with smooth flavor. As it warms up, the full body develops and the nuttiness and roastiness of the darker malt starts to come through. thunderpup12 (21) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - APR 23, 2016
12 oz bottle. This is a fantastic porter. Pours black with a nice tan head. Great taste. Might be my favorite porter. Boomersmancave1 (133) - Wheatland, Indiana, USA - JAN 17, 2016
Pours black. Tan head. Deep roasted malt and caramel aromas. Coffee, caramel and roasted malt flavors with a burnt toffee finish. Nice beer!!
