Our take on a classic American style, also our first ever beer. This dry hopped beer has bags of dark crystal malt to give sweetness, which is offset by the addition of US Bravo and Summit hops at all points in the boil to give 60 IBUs. The finished product, however, is well balanced and a great homage to the American craft brewers.

Cloudy amber beer with a thin creamy head. Hop and grapefruit aroma. Taste is very grapefruity and there is a smokey and nutty edge.

Cask at The Font, Chorlton. Reddish dark amber shade. White bubbles. Berry fruit, resin, touch of earthiness and a pronounced juiciness without calling to mind individual fruits. Mouthfeel is light and slick which works in its favour. Quite enjoyable.

Cask @ Sparrow Bier Cafe, Bradford. Darker amber in colour with a creamy head. Theres some pale malts here, but its strength dominates the taste department with a dry malty aftertaste evident.

Bottle from Rehills, Newcastle. This is a cloudy amber coloured beer with tropical fruit, pine and orange marmalade flavours followed by a malty, woody and bitter pine finish. Excellent!

Bottle from The Beerhive. Hazy chestnut body with a medium off-white head. No visible carbonation. Lacing coats the glass. Aroma of filter coffee, salted lime, peach, Earl Grey tea and a hint of smoke. The flavour is very hoppy - pink grapefruit, red apple, cigar and caramel. Lovely bitterness. Medium body with an oily texture. Soft fizz. A stunning beer.

Clear brown colour. This is a strange one with a rich maltiness and a weird citrusy lemon/lime taste.

Draught schooner. Cloudy deep copper. Smallish off-white head that dissipates quickly leaving a little lacing. Aroma is mild and floral. Flavours similarly floral, some stone fruit, a little toffee, grapefruit. A decent malt backbone and a robust bitter finish. Pretty good.

Draught at The Hanging Bat, Edinburgh on 17 May. Poured a deep amber colour, with a thin white head. Aroma of toffee, ripe fruit and grassy hop. Grapefruit hop flavour, with some sticky fruit and hay. Finish was caramel, lightly toasted malt and resin.

Bottle courtesy of dad consumed at home Tuesday 18th March 2014 Pours amber with a good clarity and a filmy white head there was almost certainly a bigger head but I sort of got stuck into it a bit swiftly. Soft in mouth but a huge bittersweet flavour explosion of citrussy hops. I rattled this down me in no time, so quick that my rating is a bit crap. A7 A4 T7 P4 Ov14 3.6
