COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
During the Otago gold rush, miners brought with them a thirst for a beer that originated in the Californian goldfields called Steam. It was a highly charged brew that let off a good head of steam when the barrels were tapped. The brew had the smooth richness of lager, combined with the fruity bitterness of ale, much like the beer you are drinking now.

An easily drinkable enjoyable beverage. Great clear clean poor followed by a nice clean crisp beer. Very slight fruitiness to the beer.

On tap at Queenstown airport. Pours orange brown without much head. Plums, raisins, dried figs. Lots of yeasty esters but not much of anything else.

(330ml bottle) Pours a clear copper body with a creamy off-white head. Aroma of grain, mustiness, orange, and bread. Flavor of toasted grain, minerals, grass, and grapefruit peel.

W zasadzie niczym nie wyrżniające się piwo, bez charakterystycznego posmaku czy zapachu. Na pewno lepsze od zwykłego lagera ale nic poza tym.

Quite disappointing. I was hoping to get a beer like Anchor Steam. But what I got smelled of green apples and pilsner malt. No hop character at all. Flavor isnt much better with a generic malt profile and a touch of plasticy phenol. Appearance is golden with a large, white, lasting head.

Bottle. Pours a dark gold colour with mid size white head, malty and hoppy aroma, taste is light with malt and fruit with a dry finish.

An unfiltered, toasty, slightly fruity steam beer with contrasting crispness and softness. Orange marmalade, Munich malt toast and bread crusts, bit of nectarine and honey. Slightly grainy with medium-high carbonation (natural!), soft approach with creamy, fine carbonation, turning to a crisp smacking of bready / crusty malt and orange pith across the mid-palate into the finish. Yeast adds to the creaminess, though its still a little too "doughy" at times. Lightly sweet, a little tart with moderate bitterness, malt and hops equally expressive, and a nice balance of sweet, bitter, acidity and carbonation makes it appealing. The malt is succulent, hops just juicy enough, mouth feel is savory with only a faint husky edge to it, still enjoyable.

The head is ok, the body is brown. It smells malty, fruity. The taste is fruity, malty, aromatic, hoppy, darkmalty, quite bitter, nice!

330ml bottle from New World Freemans Bay. Pours golden cloudy with an off white head. Loads of carbonation. Aroma of raw malts with slight hints of hops and caramel. Bitterness is smooth and creamy. Very drinkable

Bronze colour with thick white head. Mlty biscuit aroma. Green hop bitterness. Pleasant but nothing outstanding.
