bartlebier (3982) - Belchium im Biersgau, GERMANY - JUN 11, 2015
33cl bottle at Potje Paté, Veurne 2013, from notes. Matte mahogani pour. Inviting mildly sweet&sour, caramel and balsamic nose, with fruity strawberry caramels dominating. Interplay of sweet and sour starts off promising (fata morganas of red berries on the bough quickly dispelled), quickly dissipating into a slumping strawberry jam on dark bread. Lacking an expressive mouthfeel and taste peaks. A pedestrian distant niece to Gouden Band. Goes well enough with thick slices of rustic paté, though.

Pours a short beige head with lambic like sour flavor. Dark ruby to light brown colored body. In mouth, taste of acid berry and red duchesse de Bourgogne rather than any Belgian brown beer. Medium length but definitely too sour for my taste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Keg at spitfire. Pours deep reddish amber, nose is funky, cherry, taste is quite sour, vinegar, light fruitiness.

Hamirubi (587) - Waarschoot, BELGIUM - APR 13, 2015
25cl bottle. I had the blond and the brown ale, but only remember the taste of this one. The sourness is very appealing, but the finish has an ’iron’ taste. Very unpleasant.

Fin (10541) - Merton, Oxfordshire, England, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - MAR 21, 2015
Bottle at Le Pantin, Ixelles, Brussels, Saturday 21st March 2015 Some balsamic on the nose, sweet, tart and with a good sour edge. Loz isn’t a fan of this place so I am gonna have to rush my rating. I actually rather like this beer compared to the frankly drab blonde. It’s sour, tart, tangy, fruity, repeats a little on the way down. Good beer. A7 A4 T7 P4 Ov14 3.6

Alusmamuts (1977) - LATVIA - MAR 14, 2015
Drak brown with rich beige head. Sour fruity aroma. Sour and swet fruity taste, something of red and wood fruits, slight bitterness on the background, very refreshing.

kingstoni (2088) - FINLAND - MAR 10, 2015
Bottle. Deep brown color with a medium thin frothy beige head. Sour aroma of berries, apple and grapes. Sweet and sour taste. Medium body. Lively carbonation.

Scopey (14730) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 27, 2015
Keg at Six Deg Abz. It pours deep brown with a small light yellow-tan head. The nose is earthy, wood, brett, tangy dark fruits and a touch of malt vinegar. The taste is full of tangy dark fruits, malt vinegar, cola, dried fruits, wood, mild acidity and tart green apple with a dry finish. Medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. Tangy. A bit too much malt vinegar. OK sour brown.

Pyrmir (6094) - Uppsala, SWEDEN - JAN 20, 2015
330 ml bottle during Brussels vacation, at Deliciés. Reddish brown with off white head. Aroma is sweet and sour, acidity, vinegar and red berries. Taste is nicely balanced, sweet, sour, lots of vinegar, lactic acid, some malt notes and red berries. Really nice beer, reminds me of Duchesse de Borgogne but not as cloyingly sweet.
