on of the easiest to find good beers in Argentina, slightly chocolatey slightly malty and a bit of milk in the finish. Very solid for as available and cheap as it is

Buena.

UPDATED: MAY 20, 2005 I brought this particular can of beer back with me a while ago. But its still clear and actually tastes better than I remember! Must be due to the alcohol. I was immediately impressed by the pronounced flavor upon my first sip. Its a flavor that dissipates after a while though. Nice lace on the glass and a light lingering head. The color is that of a traditional brown ale. This beer is much better than I remember. Id suggest for the patient to get a case and sock it away for a while, taking out a can or bottle once per month over a year or two. I bet it gets much better. Go Quilmes! I had orignially anticipated that the color was only from malt syrup added, but perhaps there is more going on here. Not bad, not bad....

Unlike the lager, this beer is definitely very drinkable. Nice body, caramel, and even though not like most of the bock beers I drink in Europe, it is very refreshing.

Can. Clear, copper with beige head. Malt, caramel, sweetness and a tad spice aroma. The flavor has a malty sweetness and some hops. Medium body and a sweet and malty finish. A decent bock, but a bit anonymous. (070427)

Bought a liter of this beer while living in Buenos Aires, and poured it into a wine glass to drink. The beer had a malty aroma with a strong caramel presence, along with some fruit, molasses, and a bit of grainy scents. It had a dark brown color, with a slight ruby hue, and a good-sized creamy off-white head that had pretty good retention and a lot of cling. The taste was somewhat sweet and malty, but also had a bitter grain effect. Its body was creamy and smooth, mostly wet, and had a decent amount of fizz and carbonation. Overall the beer had a lot of good characteristics, but the taste was its weakest component.
