Bottle 355 ml. R$ 4.00 (US$ 2.08) in The Dubliners Irish Pub, Salvador, Brazil. Light yellow color, It’s not good, but it’s better than brazilians commercial beers.

Pours a light golden color with thin white head. Nice malty aromas with delicate hints of spicy hops. Fairly light bodied with plenty of carbonation. Gentle hop bitterness with sweet malty overtones and short, crisp finish. Very refreshing and excellent as a session beer. Try with chiimichuri steak or Argentinian beef soup.

This is a very watery and corny tasting beer. I didn’t find it horrible although it didn’t really have any redeeming qualities I can name.

Not bad, full grassy aroma, good body for a lager. Thanks Ron for sharing!

Appearance: Pours a clear, pale yellow body with a few stray bubbles, but that’s about it. Smell: Sad, vapid nose with just a light touch of pale malt and floral hops. Taste: Light pale malts with only the faintest sweetness. Meager floral hint with an almost non-existent bitterness. The rest is water, folks. Mouthfeel: Thin-bodied. Medium carbonation. Drinkability: Shamefully watery. Great for rinsing out your glass for the next beer - hopefully one with some actual flavor and character.

Bought one bottle for the sole purpose of trying any beer from Argentina. Very light and watered down Lager. Would be better very cold after cutting the lawn.

355ml bottle.
Pale yellow beer with a white head. Semi sweet nose with a bit of skunk and metal. Thin beer with a mildly sweet corny flavour. Slightly bitter finish. On the low end of the scale.

(12oz bottle from Whole Foods on September 13, 2008) Sitting around at home, digesting beans and rice on a Saturday afternoon. Being lazy, want a beer, what to do? Quilmes! Its billowy white frothy head forms as I pour, popping itself away in about 30 seconds. Its exceptionally clear with steady carbonation ascending through its pale yellow color. Aroma of a pale lager, and the flavor a little metallic. Smooth going down. In the past 24 hours this is the 12th Latin American label Ive had, so Im becoming more accustomed to the style. Before this weekend I never thought too seriously of Latin American lagers, but I suppose Ive come to appreciate them for what they are a little more. That said, for what Quilmes is, its pretty good. No offensive flavors, no bad aftertaste, quenches the thirst. And although its not a smooth porter, a luscious double IPA or a well-concocted Belgian, its darned good for what it is.

Pours a very light pale color with a small almost non existent head. Smells of corn and not much malt. First sip is tad bitter with an ok hop presence but not much flavor. Very light bodied with average carbonation. Very typical for beers from South America. Not enough flavor to be called a beer.
