3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Dark brown pour with a dense beige head of fine bubbles. Coats the glass. Aroma is chocolate, wood, and faint dark fruit. Taste is bitter coffee, burnt, a little wood and dark fruit. Medium body with a little alcohol warmth.
Having warm at first, smell is of dark fruits, Plum, and some nuttiness. When it’s warm it’s a little more watery than I thought it would be, and you can definitely taste some alcohol with a little bit of burn... taste doesn’t have the complexity that the smell does at all JPDIPSO (6223) - Wauwatosa, USA - DEC 31, 2016
Dark brown color with a smallish, yet stable tan head. Aromas of sweet toasted to roasted malt. Bit of vanilla and mocha. Sweet flavors. Stewed prunes and lightly roasted malt dominate the flavors. Fairly thin in feel. Slightly earthy hops and just a hint of alcohol. Simple, teeters between a barleywine and an imperial stout.
