A nice offering from R&B. It poured thick and dark like an oatmeal stout should, with the prerequisite creamy tan head and a pleasing aroma of roasted/toasted malts paired with some burnt coffee. Tasted just like that, too. Mouthfeel was right smooth, and it finished well. frink (467) - coquitlam, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 15, 2007
Dark brown with a short lived head. Roasted malt and coffee in the nose. More of the same in the taste nice amount of bitterness a bit dry. Drinkable. GCBF. GregClow (3402) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - APR 18, 2011
Bottle - consumed and rated in Dec 2008. Deep brown-black with a small tan head. Aroma and flavour both combine roasted malt, coffee, smoked barley and cocoa, with a moderately dry and slightly hoppy finish. Medium bodied with a nice level of carbonation. A decent and very easy to drink stout. CapFlu (5132) - Victoria, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 10, 2007
(Draught) Sampled at the Great Canadian Beer Festival 2007 in Victoria on September 7th, 2007. Very strong coffee aroma. Flavour is intensely bitter with a good coffee base. Good. Trev (2023) - Lakeville, Minnesota, USA - NOV 1, 2007
Pours a very dark brown with a thin tan head. Raisin, coffee and some chocolate in the aroma and a dry bitter coffee and choc. flavour. Very smooth and drinkable.

Thanks to Blankboy. Appearance: Pitch black, small creamy tan head. Aroma: Slight chocolate with coffee, malt, a little creamy too. Flavour: Quite a light body with a mild dash of coffee, a good amount of malt, medium bitterness, a long dry finish. Very nice. Very dark chestnut brown, nearly black. Fairly robust brown head that compacts into a thin brown pad, no lacing. Bitter chocolate and burnt malt aroma. Very roasty, burnt toast, chocolate, mild coffee, and just a hint of dark fruits. Dry finish. Quite thin, detracting from the impact of the palate. mgumby10 (1856) - Jupiter, Florida, USA - MAR 15, 2008
Courtesy Degarth. Pours a dark brown/black, with a light brown head. Smells of sweet roasty malts, light chocolate, and oatmeal. Maybesome cereal in there too. Decent oatmeal sweetness in the flavor. Subtle chocolate and roasty malt characters are in the background, but fairly sweet which is to be expected. Decent and drinkable, but uninspiring. Pours black with a cream head that has some retention and lacing. Rich aroma has notes of caramel and light brown sugar. Flavor is very dry and herbal with a noticeable hop back and decided roastiness, almost burnt but not unpleasant. Not terribly complex, though. Palate has decent carbonation but limited creaminess. Overall a decent effort but could certainly be richer to suit the style. zeek (194) - British Columbia, CANADA - NOV 27, 2009
Pours a thin head which rises slightly after pouring, but is gone within a minute. Aroma is inviting but too weak for a stout.
Color is a nice black, when held up to the light a tinge of red can be seen at the edges. The burnt coffee taste one expects from a stout is there, finishes nicely with slightly bitter aftertaste. Not too thick, but certainly robust.
A fine stout, will buy again.
