English: Trippel is brewed with inspiration from the Belgian monestary beers. Pilsner malt and large quantities of light cane sugar gives the beer its golden color. The spices leaves a delicate aroma and flavor of citrus and the sugar makes the beer sweet. Very well suited for deserts. Try boiling Trippel to a caramel sirup and pour it over a piece of hot apple pie. Orange peel, coriander and cane sugar has been added.

Amber of color with a white head. An aroma of sweets, spice, candy and alcohol. A flavor of honey, spice, sweets and candy.

NosirIwont (2530) - Frederikssund, DENMARK - OCT 17, 2009
Bottle. 3 months past ‘best before’. Pours a hazy yellow-golden. No head. Aroma is sweet malt with floral notes and dark fruits. A bit of milky notes and a bit oxydised as well. Metallic, sweetish flavour. Dark fruits and notes of yeast. Overly sweet finish. A bit too much carbonation. 26-09-09.

Boutip (6374) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - APR 26, 2009
Bottle: Poured a light copper color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of light sugar with some nice Belgian malt and some light fruity ester. Taste is a well balance mix between some light candi sugar with some Belgian malt with light fruity ester. Body is about average with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Well done but lacking some ester and hops are a bit lost ion the mix.

MartinT (9880) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - APR 4, 2009
My Bottom Line:
Toasted malts and bready base sweetness accompany the doughy yeast, orange zest and humid, herbal hops in this clean but somewhat unorthodox Belgian-style Strong Ale.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam floats atop the misty copper.
-Subtle alcohol warmth helps the malt flavors, adding a little body.
-Delicate banana esters appear in the nose.
-The flavor profile is balanced, but I cannot say it is compelling.
-Furtive caramel is perceived throughout.
-Although the Belgian-style yeast is obvious, this is not like any classical Tripel I’ve had.

Gr0ve (2177) - Oslo, NORWAY - OCT 15, 2008
500 ml bottle. Orange/amber colour. Medium-sized white fluffy head. Slightly hazy. Rich malty aroma with strong notes of bitter oranges and coriander. Rich texture with wheaty notes. Some notes of alcohol, but overall this is a nicely balanced beer. Thus I would have liked it better had there been less spices. Belgian yeast character.

Quack-Duck (9484) - Down South, GERMANY - SEP 21, 2008
bottle, traded with MoritzF - thanks! Orange-amber colour, medium-sized head. Fruity nose. Full-bodied with a heavy malty base and some nice fruity flavours (orange, berries), quite spicy overall. There is also a good amount of aromatic and bitter hops present, to balance off the maltyness of the brew. Long finish.
