This really didn’t look very good, flat milky sort of thick looking, actually almost white.... weird. Aroma is somewhat spicy with some lemon and chemicals, eh. Flavor was metallic with some orange and guess what, more weird chemical stuff. Palate was kind of thin. I feel like I’ve had a lot of odd experimental witbiers lately, but this one just didn’t work for me. ketchepillar (1199) - Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA - JUL 12, 2009
Mixed results on this one. Definitely not much of a Witbier, but not bad if you ignore that. More like a hefe. Aroma is good. Some dusty compost. heemer77 (5358) - Urbandale, Iowa, USA - SEP 16, 2008
On tap at the brewpub. The body was cloudy dark orange gold with a thin white head. The aroma was fairly strong orange with some bread crust. The taste was orange peels with some floral notes. I had trouble detecting any spice at all in the taste or aroma. Bland, unless you want an orange tasting beer that isn’t that way due to hops. 3fourths (9351) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - AUG 26, 2008
Draft at the brewery. Cloudy hazed orange body with a small white head. Very juicy orange flavor with a chewy, thick wheat body. Some light spice/coriander up front, then some fresh apple and pear over the middle, leaving the mouth with a juicy, tangy, full citrus coating. A light acidity and bitterness in the finish rounds out a decent witbier. Things must have change since General Gao tried this one. GeneralGao (3614) - Iowa City, Iowa, USA - JUN 8, 2007
Draft at the brewpub. Golden light orange color. Only minimally hazy. I like my wits nice and cloudy. Low marks. Head was white and disappeared quickly. Citrusy aroma accompanied by a subtle cleaning solution smell, corinader, and pear. Sweet on the tongue. Tasted like weak fruit juice. Like a combination of guava and orange. There was also a light brown sugar note. Strange concoction not at all resembling a wit beer.
