(Draught at the brewery) near black, clear with dark tan lasting head. Nose of light peppers, rich chocolate malt, tiny bit of an off corn smell If swirled, light fudge as well. Taste is very well balanced mix of rich chocolate, peppers without being hot, cream, linger is deliciously warm peppery chocolate, heat lasts just a tiny bit in the throat but never gets aggressive. Quite well done. boomerbrew (147) - Texas, USA - JAN 14, 2013
On tap at the brewery. Nice sipping beer - this was my first that day and should have went light to dark (i know better) because i took my time with it.
Dark complex malt aromas along with the coffee favors as it warmed. It was said that it had chili or chili pepper but I did not catch that. Mild to low hops but sweet malty bitterness on the palate. Nice job! Cavie (4718) - Arlington, Texas, USA - JAN 9, 2013
Tap At the brewery. Dark brown pour with a foamy beige head. Seems slightly darker than the regular pug. Aroma is dark malts, roast, chocolate, and perhaps a touch of coffee ground. Flavor is also fairly similar to the original pug with dark malts and roasted notes, however a noticeable heat appears near the finish. Subtle but different. On tap at the 8th Anniversary Party. Dark pour with a tan head. Aroma is chocolate, roasted, and peppers. Taste is chocolate, spice, pepper, and heavy toast. Great finish.
