Dogbrick (12921) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - APR 7, 2014
On draught at Ginger Man Dallas. Dark ruby-brown color with a medium foamy light beige head that recedes gradually. Dark fruit, malt and hops in the nose. Medium body and slightly chewy with flavors of caramel malt, dark fruit and earthy hops. The finish is subtly smoky with a malt and fruit aftertaste. Decent overall.

Very nutty and roasted malt taste with caramel notes. Medium bitterness. The palate lacks thickness, slightly watery mouthfeel. Dry, burnt, bready aftertaste. Great scotch ale with great roasted malt notes. ---Rated via Beer Buddy

Gvaughn (22) - Texas, USA - MAR 22, 2014
This is a dark beer with creamy tan head. Malty aroma with hints of chocolate and dark fruits. The body seems thin for the style. Finish is bitter but the overall sweetness makes this hard to drink a second in one sitting.

kevinator (2176) - The Colony, Texas, USA - MAR 22, 2014
Decent scotch ale. Mild sweet malty aroma. Dark brown color with an average head. Lighter palate than most of this style and higher carbonation. Blend of sweet malt with raisin and molasses flavors with a slight smokiness. I also noticed a hops bitterness on the finish. Good effort.

ttutony (918) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 19, 2014
Nice deep brown with a tan head. A little grainy aroma. Malty palate with toast, nuts, grain, a hint of cocoa. Not much in the way of smokiness which I consider a positive but may disappoint some people who are fans of the scotch ale style with a smoky malt character.

3.4
deyholla (11496) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - MAR 15, 2014
Sampled at the 2014 Untapped festival in Fort Worth. Pours a clear deep amber with a gray head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has notes of bread, dark sweet grains, toffee and a touch of grass. Flavor has notes of dark breads with dark cookie, biscuit and some toffee coming through.

high_on_hops (809) - Burlingame, California, USA - MAR 14, 2014
Pours a solid black with a tan head and lacing. It has a rich, malty aroma with plum and some brown sugar. The flavor is rich, sweet malt up front with some dark fruit and a hint of chocolate leading to a sweet, smooth finish over a medium-heavy body. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

3.3
ttoadee (1477) - Austin, Texas, USA - MAR 2, 2014
Dark amber pour, thin off white head. Candy sugar and malt in the nose. Middle is toasted malt and thin molasses. Finish is well balanced malt. Seems a little light in the mouth feel for the style, but very drinkable.

Hiero (163) - Dallas, Texas, USA - JAN 29, 2014
Drank this a week ago, so I can’t remember all the details. This had a complex, dark flavor with a medium body. Not much bitterness which made it very drinkable.

jsquire (4421) - St. Marys, Ohio, USA - JUN 24, 2013
Dark brown amber color with only the barest of beige heads. Big malty, molasses and dried fruit nose. This is a very smooth beer with big malty sweetness, caramel, molasses, raisin, prune, faint smoke and rich peat. There is some sweetened chocolate in the finish, with a nice warming alcohol sensation to it. This is a very sweet, accessible Scotch ale.
