Bottle at RBESG 2011 Grand Tasting at The Dean Swift, London. Pours ruby-brown with a foamy, off-white head. Big dark, ripe fruit nose. Medium to big sweet flavor, notes of raisin, fig, prune and subtle roasted malts. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Warm finish, mild wood, some hard alcohol, more dark fruits. Very good beer. Mark another awesome brew to be placed in the AW BHoF!! This is simply an exquisite brew! It pours up rich dark brown (nearly black) body with an intense foamy head that lingers for quite a long time and leaves some awesome lacing on the glass! Scents and flavors of bourbon, vanilla, malts, and caramel; none of which overpower the other. There’s just enough twinge from the alcohol that lets you know you’re drinking a hearty brew so don’t rush; sit back and enjoy slowly! This brew has just the right amount of thickness and smoothness that reminds me of a fine well-aged bourbon. Definitely a brew to stock up on and let the bottles age like a fine wine! I can see this being a awesome brew to enjoy during the wintry months but it’s one that can be easily enjoyed year round. TizzleJizzle (792) - Garland, Texas, USA - SEP 18, 2011
1 year aged bottle. Hardcore aroma of bourbon and faint roasted malts. It poured a beautiful unfiltered translucent dark brown color with superb head retention and amazing lacing. Flavor of toasted malty goodness, oak, with a strong finish of whiskey that lingers on the palate. I’m loving this brew and can’t wait to have it again this year TheEpeeist (3709) - Media, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 13, 2011
22 oz bottle. Dark brown with a pocked beige head. Nose is bourbon, cola, caramel and oak. Creamy medium body with a tang. Taste is dusty chocolate, a hint of molasses, bourbon, toffee and bitter greens. Too much barrel but nice hints of sweetness. fonefan (50004) - VestJylland, DENMARK - AUG 30, 2011

Dark muddy brown with a spotty, sudsy off-white head. Nicely layered nose of dark fruits, heavy bourbon, raisins. Thin mouthfeel with notes of spicecake, bourbon, lemon, and more booze. emacgee (4698) - Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA - JUL 30, 2011
Thanks ericandersnavy. Pours dark burnt brown with one finger of brown head. Nose is vinous and tart with oak (if that makes sense), sour bourbon and dextrinous malt profile. One dimensional, barrel’s there for sure but not much else. Mouthfeel is meh.
