Dean Swift - RBESG Tasting. Hazy red - brown beer. Little pale tan head. Bourbon - vanilla oak nose. Light palate, semi dry. Minerals. Nice vanilla oak and mild bourbon, lacto sweetness. Trace of fruit. Light dry finish. Tasty!
Draft. Deep clear amber color, thin wispy white head. Aroma of big bourbon, cocoa. Taste has more bourbon that overwhelms the beery characteristics. cgarvieuk (24458) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - JAN 6, 2012

Bottle @ RBESG 2011 Grand Tasting at Dean Swift. Dark brown colour. Bit of bourbon flavour. Bit of dark malt. fine actually as I don’t normally like bourbon barrel aged beers. mcberko (17815) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - APR 1, 2012
22 oz. bottle, sent from BigTomz (thanks Tom), pours a deep dark brown with a reddish tinge with a medium beige head. Aroma of bourbon barrel, butterscotch, vanilla and toasted bread. Flavour of butterscotch, toasted bread and light bourbon barrels. Quite highly carbonated, with a lingering toasted bread finish. Medium complexity, some of which is distorted by the carbonation. Quite nice. jtclockwork (16581) - , New Jersey, USA - SEP 8, 2015
Etched glass bottle - Pours dark brown tan head. Nose/taste of bourbon, vanilla, caramel, dark fruit, raisin and oak - Medium body. brokensail (16444) - Dublin, California, USA - FEB 20, 2011
A: This one pours a darkish brown color with a thin khaki colored head.
S: Smells roasty with a nice enough chocolate aroma. A bit of oak/wood and some mild vanilla. A bit of dark fruit going on in the background. Mild licorice aromas to it and some hints of coffee.
T: Slightly bitter with lots of roasted malts. Some licorice notes, wood, vanilla, and a hint of bourbon. Quite a bit of chocolate, perhaps some of which is from oxidation. Light notes of dark fruit on the palate as well.
M: The body is medium with a moderate level of carbonation.
D: This was quite good. Not too much bourbon flavor, but a nice -bal contribution to it and good flavors overall.
