Pours a nice, slick brown with a nose of vanilla, caramel, tobacco, and oak. Very pleasing in my booger suitcases. Flavor is light but tasty oak, bourbon, vanilla, pipe tobacco, and caramel. Average mouthfeel. Great, great beer; funny how the nose and the flavor match. What a world.
On tap at flying saucer. Pours a very dark brown with a medium frothty tan head that lasts awhile leaving sticky lacing along the glass. The aroma is a sweet roasted malt with chocolate and fruit. Thin mouthfeel with a roasted malt and coffee and chocolate with a nice light bitter finish. Hides the alcohol well making it easy to drink, a very good English strong ale from Rahr. jcwattsrugger (12420) - Florida and, New Jersey, USA - JUN 27, 2011

1 year aged bottle. Hardcore aroma of bourbon and faint roasted malts. It poured a beautiful unfiltered translucent dark brown color with superb head retention and amazing lacing. Flavor of toasted malty goodness, oak, with a strong finish of whiskey that lingers on the palate. I’m loving this brew and can’t wait to have it again this year Leighton (21255) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 2, 2011
Bottle at RBESG 2011 Grand Tasting at The Dean Swift, London. Pours ruby-brown with a foamy, off-white head. Big dark, ripe fruit nose. Medium to big sweet flavor, notes of raisin, fig, prune and subtle roasted malts. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Warm finish, mild wood, some hard alcohol, more dark fruits. Very good beer.

22oz bottle from thirdeye11, thanks Boutip (6380) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - MAR 20, 2012
Appearance: Clear dark brown with a big beige head and lots of sticky lacing
Aroma: Roosted malts, bourbon, woody and vanilla
Taste: Toasted malts, sweet caramel, woody, bourbon and vanilla
Nice and flavorful.
Bottle: Poured a clear dark brown color ale with a medium size foamy head with good retention and some light notes of lacing. Aroma of medium bourbon notes with some light vanilla with some light caramelized malt notes. Taste is also a mix between some caramelized malt notes with light toffee undertones and some vanilla and bourbon notes. Body is about average with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Very well brewed with nice balanced between complexity and drinkability. reggiedunlop (3725) - The dub c, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 30, 2012
Pours dark brown...opaque...with a medium tan head. Aroma has mild candied fruits, faint peat, raisin, and mild bourbon. Flavor has light raisin and vanilla...bourbon is light...almost like a dubbel. Mouthfeel is medium and silky with some nice oak and very mild bourbon in the finish. WozWx (83) - Lafayette, Indiana, USA - JAN 9, 2013
Hints of vanilla, coffee, and lots of bourbon. Poured into 8 oz glass very dark brown. Awesome beer that I would have again.
