12 oz bottle courtesy of Ben. Dark yellow pour with some haziness, little to no head in spite of a vigorous pour. Heavy banana notes in the aroma with a hint of clove. Mouthfeel is more carbonated than I expected after not getting any head with the pour. Flavor is banana that quickly fades into a dry, almost smokey finish.

Yellow and hazy - good head. Aroma of bubblegum and grapefruit - nice. Tastes very citrusy and tangy with a good hit of tartness. The finish of bubblegum lingers.

Bottle. Old rating that I just found. Pours with a hazy golden body and a fading white head. Aroma of citrus, lemon and light phenols. Taste is watery with banana, clove and lemon. Thin.

Bottle. Pours a orange golden with a medium frothy white head that leaves behind decent spotty lacing along the glass. The aroma is a strong banana and clove with bubblegum. Thin mouthfeel with a banana flavor with wheat and citrus. Easy to drink, a good German Hefe from Rahr.

Interesting beer; nice honey slightly cloudy color; good aroma. Smooth with nice medium palate. and a slightly tart taste going down (more lemon than banana to me) would drink one again.

UPDATED: JUN 4, 2011 Has a darker pour than most Belgium wheats but maintains the same aroma. Yet another juicy fruit beer. 3.6
RE-RATE Tap at Gman FW. This beer pours a cloudy orange-yellow color with a tall foamy white head. The head is maintained for several minutes as it crests the rim and gently slopes down the outside of the glass. BTW I should mention it is really cool to look down the bar and see EVERYONE drinking the same thing. That never happens here.

The aroma is wheaty and grainy upfront with an immediate shift to a floral fruit-like nose. Large elements of lemon citrus and perhaps a bit of banana as well. Thats nice to see considering it was initially served without a lemon. (They left one on the side incase i wanted it.) This beer also sports a fair bit of spice, cloves or maybe a subtle coriander.

The first thing I taste is quite bready. Lots of wheats and grain characteristics. The sweet fruit flavors come towards the middle of the drink and last through the finish. Gentle spice as well. Very nice and refreshing. Adding the lemon slice adds an obvious boost of citrus and light tartness, but the fruit slice is unnecessary for this particular Hefeweizen.
