Golden brown. Aroma is caramel, toffee, taste is similar. Ok doppelbock, with some light chewy, bready notes but nothing like the ones from the outskirts of Munich. brokensail (16432) - Dublin, California, USA - JUL 12, 2012
Amber in color with a small khaki colored head. Nose is the fairly standard sweet malt mixed with toast and cola. A bit of yeast, dark fruit, and a very mild roastiness. Nothing really extraordinary. Good flavor, but not amazing. Bread, toasted malt, and a hint of cola and dark fruit. There is some mild roast and yeast notes. Just an okay doppelbock. djd07 (14355) - Houston, Texas, USA - MAY 28, 2012

Sample at GABF 2016. Low and quickly disappearing off-white head. Hazy amber body. Alcohol dominated sweet wineous port like aroma. Sweet malt caramel flavor with little hops bitterness, low carbonation and a long finish. BMan1113VR (7931) - Los Angeles, California, USA - MAY 29, 2012
Bottle thanks to Fratto. Pours with a clear, deep bronze hued body with a small off-white head. Aromas are nutty, malty, herbal hops, light caramel and munich. Toasty. Flavors are malty, nutty, molasses with a slightly distracting spicy hop character. Clean yeast wise. Medium bubbles, medium bodied, not overly sweet. 5000 (6862) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - SEP 30, 2012
Bottle:   Deep caramel, thin frothy off-white head, little lacing.   Nutty whole wheat bready aroma.   A little toffee and caramel as well.   Soft sweet nutty start, a bit bready but not too heavy, slightly mealy.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   For a Doppelbock its a little light.   Finishes not too heavy, mealy, bready in a whole wheat sense, but at least its clean.   Thanks for the bottle Bill! blutt59 (6562) - Dallas, Texas, USA - APR 13, 2012
bottle, thanks to Fratto, amber color with a nutty aroma, flavor of burnt corn nuts and caramel, some cocoa on the finish thirdeye11 (6160) - Dallas, Texas, USA - APR 11, 2012
(22oz bomber thanks to Fratto) clear medium brown with wispy offwhite bubbles. Nose of toasty malt, raisins, graham crackers, taste of wheat, dark raisins and fruit, alcohol and cream. Well carbonated, and interesting.
