Aroma is a nice fruitiness mixed with coffee notes. Has a nice black body with minimal head. Flavour is sweet cocoas and coffee with a hint of apple. Smooth mouthfeel. It’s a fine and unique stout. jerseyjohn71 (309) - Corsicana, Texas, USA - DEC 26, 2014

Pours dark brown with small tan head out of bottle. Aroma of malt, caramel, and toasted nuts. Flavor similar to aroma with emphasis on the toasted nuts.

Long Neck--> pint glass. Dark brown, large head. Aroma of rum raisin and molasses with notes of vanilla and pecan, very complex and hard to pin down. Hoppy taste, aftertaste brings back most of the aroma plus subtle spices and notes of espresso at the finish. Alcohol well concealed. Too much hops for the interesting mix of flavors but I don't notice it so much after a couple sips. It's a very decent ale and very tasty.

Deep mahogany pour with a nice tan head and good placing. Aroma is toast, nutty, and burnt caramel. Taste is nutty, toast, caramel, and some char. Has some subtle bitterness to balance the light sweetness. Medium body. Good beer. Definitely my favorite Rahr 6-pack.

Draft. Dark brown color, nice beige head with decent retention and lacing. Aroma of toffee, candied dried fruit, burnt caramel. Taste has plums, raisins, dark roast. Very tasty. TXBadger (2811) - Dallas, Texas, USA - JUN 19, 2014
Pours a dark brown almost black color with tan head. Roasted caramel malt, a little spice, and charr on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes warm and roasty. kevinator (2205) - The Colony, Texas, USA - JAN 17, 2014
Much better than I remember. Nice malty and caramel aroma. A bread crust brown color with a good foamy head. Weighty palate with decent carbonation. Full feeling. Bready malt flavors with burnt sugar and spices. Overall a good beer only to be bettered by the bourbon barrel version. Pershing (561) - Garland, Texas, USA - JAN 4, 2014
Dark brown with a thin lasting tan head. Sweet malt aroma. Medium body with lots of malt with a little hop bitterness. I prefer drinking this beer just below room temperature i.e. 60-65 degrees. Filling finish. thebrymanosu (39) - - DEC 31, 2013
Great beer. The only thing I wish for this beer is that it had more aromatic malt. It is perfect for a cold night. Great beer overall.
