travita (5006) - Dallas, Texas, USA - MAR 18, 2008
Dark brown in color with an ok head. Aroma has some caramel with other malts. Taste, it needs more of it but there is some malts in there. Thin body. Weak for the style and the alcohol content.

This beer look like a beer should when you pour it in a beer glass. Its 80% opaque brown malt colored with a 1 inch beige head that settles to a 1/8" faster than id prefer. The aroma is clean and has notes of spring water and clove. The flavor is heavy with heavily toasted, roasted, almost burnt malt, and clove. Appeal is smooth and easy. Lacing is light on the glass. Finish is spicy and malty. Tastes good when its 68 in your house and 105 outside.

UPDATED: OCT 25, 2009 This is an amazing tasting beer. It was a perfect mix of caramel and spices, with the right touch of alcohol. Yes.

Poured a clear golden chestnut color with a thin off-white head. Light caramel malt with light clovey spice. Mild alcohol notes. Malty flavor with mild fruit, just a hint of spice and light alcohol. Some sweetness. Fair amount of warmth. Some toasty aroma when this warmed. Medium bodied.

Draught. Another nice warmer that does not attack you with ABV. Dark brown pour that stays pretty still. Aroma is mostly sweet malt and toffee. Flavour is more malt and a little spice. Easy drinking.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a medium rapidly dissipating light beige head, over a clear brown (SRM 23) body......nose is roasted malts with cocoa, chocolate, also plum raisin notes, vanilla, light hop spice, balance slightly to the hops.....taste mild toffee/caramel type sweetness, moderate roasted malts with cocoa, chocolate, becoming lingering hop bitter with mild roasted malt bitterness, light fruit notes of plum, raisin, vanilla light tobacco, balanced between malts and hops......mouth feel, medium body, alcohol heat present, carbonation high with a near creamy mouthful. The roasted malt tones and the bittering from the hops dominate the taste. The caramel malts and fruit notes are present but somewhat hidden. The beer could use more caramel/crystal malts and a slightly lower hop level as an English Strong Ale. BJCP 7/3/15/4/7
