Cloudy dark amber color. Nice aroma, with some malt, roasted malt, caramel, toffee. Good body structure, with a good mix of malt and caramel. Enough bitterness, but it would really need a more aromatic hopping. Anyway, the most interesting here.
Bottle. Creamy white good mostly lasting head. Amber colour. Moderate malty and hoppy aroma. Light sweet and moderate flavor. Average moderate bitter finish. Creamy palate. Nice. ttutony (949) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 20, 2009
Deep brown in the glass with a very thin white to tan head. Nice nutty, roasted aroma with maybe a hint of coffee in there too. Flavors on the palate are similar to the aroma. Very nice. Mora2000 (6158) - McKinney, Texas, USA - JAN 13, 2010
The beer pours dark brown to black with a smallish tan head. There is not too much aroma but what is there is mainly molasses and roasted malt. I really expected more aroma from a beer like this. The flavor is better than the smell. Roasted malt is the main flavor but malt sweetness and spices are also present. The spices are somewhat muddled but I think nutmeg and cinnamon are in there somewhere. The beer is not too complex but is not a bad beer. Medium body with medium carbonation. The beer is very creamy which is the best aspect of the beer.
It should be noted that this beer appears to vary in carbonation. I have had several of these this year and the carbonation has varied from almost non-existent to medium. The carbonation definitely helps the beer. Sammer (1119) - Plano, Texas, USA - DEC 9, 2010
Dark brown pour from bottle. Thin head. Aroma is light smoke and molasses. Taste is malty, with notes of coffee and burnt wood. Smooth finish. Nice.

Bottle (dregs) … Tampa “Farewell to Sebletitje” Tasting… Hazy brown ale with a small, creamy, off-white head. Good retention. The nose offers caramel and toasted nuts – almonds and pistachios. Full-bodied with a milky mouthfeel and nearly expired carbonation. The flavor is chocolaty-sweet followed by mild acidity. Lengthy, lightly bitter finish. Bottle courtesy of drowland. Thanks, Danny! 12 oz bottle compliments of TJ. Poured the color of cola with sweet malty nose. Sticky sweet malt backbone, caramel and raisins. Slight bitterness at the finish, practically disappeared as it warmed up. Delicious ww! drjay44 (3889) - Salida, Colorado, USA - JAN 17, 2017
12 oz. bottle. Pours a medium rapidly dissipating light beige head, over a clear brown (SRM 23) body......nose is roasted malts with cocoa, chocolate, also plum raisin notes, vanilla, light hop spice, balance slightly to the hops.....taste mild toffee/caramel type sweetness, moderate roasted malts with cocoa, chocolate, becoming lingering hop bitter with mild roasted malt bitterness, light fruit notes of plum, raisin, vanilla light tobacco, balanced between malts and hops......mouth feel, medium body, alcohol heat present, carbonation high with a near creamy mouthful. The roasted malt tones and the bittering from the hops dominate the taste. The caramel malts and fruit notes are present but somewhat hidden. The beer could use more caramel/crystal malts and a slightly lower hop level as an English Strong Ale. BJCP 7/3/15/4/7 bu11zeye (13239) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - DEC 23, 2006
(Bottle) Pours a dark burgundy body with a spare off-white head. Aroma of dark fruits, dark malts, caramel, and licorice. Flavor of sweet and dark malt, licorice, and hint of dried dark fruits in the finish. OhioDad (2492) - Hilliard, Ohio, USA - MAR 11, 2007
