Aroma: 6/10; Appearance: 7/10; Flavor: 6/10; Palate: 6/10; Overall: 12/20
Dark brown in color with an ok head. Aroma has some caramel with other malts. Taste, it needs more of it but there is some malts in there. Thin body. Weak for the style and the alcohol content. Bella68 (42) - Alabama, USA - FEB 4, 2009
Poured a dark brownish-red color with off white head. Flavor is kinda sweet with a few hints of dark fruits. Aroma not as itense as I would like. Lots of carbonation. Ughsmash (7508) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - OCT 5, 2009
Bottled. Poured clear garnety-brown with a dense cap of beige head.. sticky lacing followed it down. The aroma picked up toasty caramel and brown sugar notes with nutty accents and an odd sour component. The flavor found redder fruits (and some associated sourness) to join caramel and nutty sweetness at the core.. bitterness was light and earthy.. light, but present sticky warmth surrounded.. grainy, residual fruit and brown sugar sweetness on the finish. Medium-bodied with a slow, scratchy feel on the palate.. just flowed decently. OK brew. spector (906) - Lancaster, Ohio, USA - JAN 27, 2007

Medium brown pour with chestnut hues. Thin notions of a white head recede quickly, leaving an oily carbonated film behind. Mostly clear with ruby and yellowish highlighting. Aroma is comprised of lightly toasted caramel malt up front. No hint at high alcohol, well masked to say the least. Sugary, interesting. Light spicing, mostly coriander and nutmeg. A little soapy as well. Flavor is sweet and nutty caramel malts, grainy and toasty. Slight tartness, nice bitterness levels throughout. Slightly syrupy palate, too fizzy at points, but an otherwise reasonable carbonation level. Still not a trace of alcohol. An agressive fullness is left behind in a sugar finish. Pretty good balance here, other than in the palate. johndavidj99 (125) - Dallas, Maine, USA - FEB 1, 2008
Dahrk ruby color with no real head to speak of. Malty aroma without much else. Thick yet watery consistency. Taste of nuts and hints of choc. & spicy hops. A finish that tries really hard to be bitter enough. Ugly pug is better. C- daknole (11044) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - FEB 6, 2009

Pours dark brown with a lasting creamy beige head. Smell is slightly herbal and malty. Taste is a bit bland, but with smooth herbal and light caramel malt. Almost no bitterness. Creamy body with soft to medium carbonation. Pretty drinkable, but not too amazing. deyholla (11496) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - DEC 9, 2011
