Aroma is a nice fruitiness mixed with coffee notes. Has a nice black body with minimal head. Flavour is sweet cocoas and coffee with a hint of apple. Smooth mouthfeel. It’s a fine and unique stout. chef201atc (261) - Fort Worth, Texas, USA - DEC 6, 2006
UPDATED: DEC 18, 2006 Pour is deep copper/caramel color with a rocky off-white head that doesn’t last long. Nose is slightly roasty with a bit of dried fruit smell. A small amount of spices can be detected. Palate is smooth and medium bodied. Taste is caramelized malt with just a touch of alcohol in the finish. peter (445) - Normal, Illinois, USA - DEC 21, 2006
8% ?? Wow never noticed. Caramel and butter scotch. Dry finish. almost not entierly not at all like hazelnut in there. A malty beer with a bit of spice. The best beer from this brewer so far. fly (1486) - austin, Tejas, Texas, USA - DEC 23, 2006
Nice. Malty and fair if seriously non-west-coast hop profile. Good beer, nothing wrong with it, perhaps a tad heavy on carbonation - wouild rate higher, but it’s just not exactly my style nor what I’m in the mood for rihgt now. (in the mood for a bit more hops, other than that I’m just being evil)

Bottle: Courtesy of bu11zeye via trade. The aroma is very roasty with roasted malt and hints of nuts along with some faint caramel. It pours a transparent brownish-red with a small off-white head that quickly fades. The flavor starts with moderate dark fruits with a light roastiness that lingers throughout. The fruitiness sweetens a tad in the finish along with some light bitterness and faint caramel. There is just a touch of alcohol flavor in the finish, but no real warmth. On draft at the Flying Saucer in Ft. Worth. Dark brown pour with small head. Caramel and malts in the nose. Big malty flavor, sweet caramel, brown sugar, and mild spice. Smooth bodied, full flavor. Nice winter brew. goldtwins (4320) - Nesconset, New York, USA - APR 25, 2007
Poured a clear golden chestnut color with a thin off-white head. Light caramel malt with light clovey spice. Mild alcohol notes. Malty flavor with mild fruit, just a hint of spice and light alcohol. Some sweetness. Fair amount of warmth. Some toasty aroma when this warmed. Medium bodied. ElGaucho (2401) - Minnetonka, Minnesota, USA - MAY 9, 2007
Bottle courtesy of Cornfield. Thanks Carl!. Nice sweet aroma that portends of good things to come. Hint of high alcohol, in the nose but it is mostly hidden. Mostly opaque, very dark reddish brown with a thin off white ring. Not much lace. There wasn’t much of a sound when I popped the cap, so I was leary of flatness. However, if I wasn’t thinking that I wouldn’t have noticed that it may be a little less carbonated than average. Nice, fairly well balanced flavor. Not much in the way of hops but the roasted malts and higher alcohol work well. A tasty brew. Not spectacular but no glaring flaws. Ty5592 (1018) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 1, 2007
