2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 6/20
Robust coffee and chocolate aromas. Deep black with no head. Sweet rich roasted malt. Full bodied with a slightly oily mouthfeel and a smooth finish.
Big black pour from a bottle. Slight tart aroma. Fairly mild on the uptake, especially for a beer near 7%. Much more well behaved than any imperial stout. Quite reserved and easy to take. I’m kindah taking a liking to this. It can’t be that high in alky. Reserved, smooth and rather bubbly. Not bad in the middle. Civilized, could be a sweet stout. Right up there with Triton Deadeye Stout &
Yards Love Stout

Pours dark brown with some tan head. Aroma is slightly muted but there is a bit of smoky malt with prune notes. Taste is somewhat bitter with smoky character and glassy aftertaste. ecu4ever (5) - - DEC 26, 2015 does not count
Nice poor from a bottle to a thick body and decent head. Love the cap and the bottle is a keeper. Back to the beer...it’s a smooth drink that’s not over the top with flavor but with a hint of bitterness (expected more if it’s double hopped). Not bad, not great. nearbeer (5603) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - JUL 29, 2015
12 oz. Uncloudy deep brown with a small spot of foam. Nose of caramel, dark toast, berry and a hint of espresso. Tastes of berry, toffee, bread, apple, cocoa and dry grass. Medium body has medium carbonation and a decent balance. jb (3407) - Rochester, New York, USA - JUN 11, 2015
Real nice find by Linda. Now this seems like a classic sweet stout to me. Nice bursting full nose. Sweet and oily then a dry finish. Surprised it was 6.5.

UPDATED: JUL 16, 2017 Pours nearly black with some ruby hughlights, and with a huge sticky off-white head thats got plenty of legs. Very creamy mouthfeel. Nice mix of molasses, baker’s chocolate, and roasted malt. Long mellow roasty finish. Comfort beer. A minute amount of tartness at the finish. A good everyday stout. Head is initially average sized, frothy, light brown, mostly diminishing.
Body is dark brown.
Aroma is moderately malty (chocolate, caramel, roasted grain, Oreo cookie), with a note of vanilla.
Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter.
Medium body, velvety/creamy texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic.
This is a fairly sweet rendition, but it’s still balanced enough in the finish to drink a whole bottle, and the aroma is certainly pleasant (mostly usual suspects for this sorta thing, but enough diversity and richness to be enticing). A decent brew. HourGlass13 (1046) - North Carolina, USA - APR 4, 2015
Pours up dark black, with a tan head. Aroma is sweet caramel. Flavor is malty brown sugar, and caramel. Only a touch of oats. Thick and rich. Well balanced and easy to drink. jbruner (5277) - Marietta, Georgia, USA - FEB 28, 2015
Pours a deep brownish black from the bottle with nice cap of tan head that leaves good lace. Aroma of big earthy soy, nice roasty back end. Taste is roasty dark malt with big earthy soy notes. Meh. Murrow (111) - Kirkwood, Missouri, USA - FEB 17, 2015
Bottle at home. Pours nearly black with light brown head. Mild aroma, roasty character. Slight sour notes. Light flavor, predominantly dark chocolate and espresso. Bitter finish that lingers. Medium mouthfeel. Tasty stout. Mild. Drinkable.
