Can: Pours black with a couple finger brown head that slowly diminishes. Aroma of chocolate, smoke, roasted malt, and some green pepper. Taste is mostly bitter with a really nice smooth chocolate mouthfeel. Light-medium body, thin on the front of the palate but has a good creaminess on the back, carbonation a bit lively, lingering bitter/dry (almost ashy) finish. Like other stouts it gets better as it warms, this one revealing more fruity plum/berry characteristics. Overall: Enjoyed and will revisit again but Im a sucker for smokey notes, if you arent a fan of smoke/ash Id steer clear though.

BrewWhatIWant (165) - Ontario, CANADA - DEC 15, 2016
Pours black with a medium brown head. Aroma of coffee and pumpernickel. Taste is bittersweet with notes of coffee, ash, pumpernickel and dark chocolate. Soda-like carbonation gives this beer an unusual sharpness. Despite this it has a decent body and smooth, full flavour.

lesifflebiere (1817) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - NOV 20, 2016

Can from LCBO in Oakville. Pours pitch black with a big VERY tan head. Smells of coffee, wood, and smoke. Taste is quite bitter up front that lasts right to the end. Light to medium bodied with flavors of coffee, dates, and nuts. Slight sweetness becomes more apparent as you drink it. Overall a fine stout that gets better as you drink it, revealing more flavour.
