Craft Clerkenwell Bottle Share. Thanks to the Wingman. Opaque dark amber - brown beer, small tan head. Palate is airy and semi dry. Modest fine carbonation. Fluffy dark malts, touches of dark chocolate and coffee. Tangy dark fruits. Light crispy finish. Standard stuff.
Can shared at a CBC Clerkenwell tasting - London. Cheers to Dave for this treat. Pours rich black-brown with a creamy, tan head. The aroma has notes of milk chocolate, light roast and burnt toast. Medium sweet flavor with some sugary chocolate, light minerality, ash, raisins. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Moderately sweet on the finish, with more roast and cocoa. Not bad, really. Theydon_Bois (19483) - Hazlemere, the lower Xhitlerns, Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - SEP 13, 2015

Can thanks to Wingman. It pours black with a small tan head. the nose is toasty, umami, roasted malt, salted liquorice and milk chocolate. The taste is sweet roast, milk chocolate, sugary, cola, stickiness and burnt caramel with short finish. Medium body, average carbonation and sticky mouth-feel. I found this one a bit sweet and one-dimensional.

A deep viscous dark stout with a thin brown head. In aroma, a smooth bitter chocolate with vinous, floral hops, coffe grinds, great. In mouth, a smooth powdery chocoolate malt with grassy hops, smooth and classic. Sammy (12195) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 26, 2013
Ok drinkability, possibly one of the better ones I have had from this brewery. Decent amount of smoke to make it interesting. A bit thin mouthfeel. Lots of licorice in the finish. Bottle at Stouts Irish Pub in Toronto. mR_fr0g (12067) - Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - DEC 28, 2015

2012-03-12. Black body, nice small brown head. Very Dry very roasty aroma. Flavour is similarly quite dry and roasty. Average to thin body for my preference for a stout. Bit simplistic but a decent stout, though too dry for my taste. On tap at Volo, Toronto

UPDATED: APR 18, 2013 Rerate from a bottle. Pour black as coal with a tight dark brown head. Rich cocoa and roast aroma with notes of licorice and some softly savoury character. A bit of rich molasses and some chewy sweetness. Lots of dark chocolate. The muddiness that I got last time is gone and this is a much nice pint than that one. Lots of roasted malt on the finish. Pretty nice robust stout.
Tap at Volo. Deep black pour with a tight brown head. The aroma is of milk chocolate, cocoa, malted milk and a little bit of light roast. As it warms up, I get a bit of an odd dullness that is really hard to identify. A touch of espresso as well that is pretty nice. There is a little bit of berryish character that I enjoy but the palate is surprisingly light and there is a little bit of a papery flavour that I could probably do without as well. There is a roasted grain tartness and a little bit of bitterness. It starts out strong, but it kind of limps along at the end.
