The darkest stout I have had personaly. Coffee. Dark chocolate and expresso are dominant flavour. Great roast notes and black as oil jonaldjames (15) - Ontario, CANADA - AUG 17, 2015
Pours opaque black with zero light transfer. Thin tan head, little retention and no lacing. Aroma of bittersweet chocolate, malts and faint vanilla and smoke. Flavour is predominantly cocoa, espresso, burnt sugar, and subtle vanilla. Lingers molasses and some ash. Medium body and lively carbonation helps to mask the warming alcohol finish. Excellent Stout, will have to revisit this one. mabel (9246) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - APR 24, 2012
[4330-20120312] Tap. Lightly burnt wood roast malt aroma. Black body with a long-lasting foamy dark brown head. More roasted malt in the flavour is balanced nicely with some wood and chocolate chips. Full body. Delicious! Great balance, not too much roast or other notes. (7/4-/9/4/17) 4.1

473 ml can. Pours near opaque with a huge, long lasting mocha head. Aromas are molasses and black licorice. Tastes are mocha, roasted coffee, and a little alcohol. Chalky mouthfeel, full body, long coffee finish. Nice robust stout.

Pours dark brown/black with a tanned head. Dark fruits, chocolate and roasted coffee aroma. Taste is bitter dark chocolate and dark fruits, with roasted coffee and nuts. Has a medium body with a low carbination. Good beer.

Bottle sample at Brewer’s Plate (Apr 18, 2012). Very dark almost-black body with a deep tan head. Dry roast aroma with lots of coffee & cocoa. Big roasty flavor with charred malt up front, dark chocolate in the middle, and back of throat coffee tartness to finish. Quite good! Body , Flavour , Palate and Final Notes: smooth medium bodied with drinkable clean, lighter end. Smooth , mellow polite darkness o stout. Satisfying softness blended with dark dryness. Quiet delicate. Excellent!
Very solid stout. Pours inky, velvet black with a small beige head. Aroma is big, rich roasted malts, light coffee. Taste is again big roasted malts, some smoke and coffee. Nice velvet mouthfeel and great for a 6% beer. Bendrixian (1514) - Canadiana, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 1, 2015
Black as night with a very brown head.aroma of tar, roast and chocolate. Shows a little prune and dark stewed fruit notes as it opens up. For a 6% beer it is quite heavy opens and is toasty with a bit of sweetness. I’m impressed. Oakes (17831) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JAN 27, 2015
Can. Very dark. Sweet, smooth, espresso, and milk chocolate, pretty good, sweet and balanced.
