I’m an afficionado of stouts and porters. I don’t care for ales because of the sweetness, but this is the first exception. Despite the retarded and sickening name which put me off completely, I was attracted to the pretty gold colour, like some of my fave whiskies or liqueurs ( but we are not pretentious snobs so who cares about looks really?) What initially sucked me in was the unusual vanilla presence in the grapefruit bouquet. Furthermore I was surprised by the full bodied taste of this feisty 6.5% beer. Couldn’t believe such a gem came out of Ontario. Neat! SpikedLemon (3) - CANADA - MAY 13, 2011 does not count
Strong ale. Very sharp hops. Definitely good for a nice strong winter beer. rcorriveau (7) - Ontario, CANADA - MAR 1, 2015 does not count
A nice IPA that is aromatic and hop forward. Not over the top and in your face with hop bitterness. In fact has a nice hop bite with true citrus bitterness. JesseM (1158) - Margaritaville, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 30, 2009
UPDATED: MAR 13, 2010 1.9L growler thanks to Jimmay, thanks man! Pours a nice bright gold with a large rocky beige head. The aroma is some melon with piney hops riding on smoke which seems to work somehow. Nice. Flavour starts out very astringent and dry on the palate, nice hoppy bitterness and citrus, making way for the unintended smokey element which I find somehow fits and actually compliments the hops. Huh, weird, go figure, I’m enjoying this infamous off flavour from this brewery. Really decent biscuity malt backbone but this one is all about the hops and the smoke. I really like it, this is a very tasty beer and I wish I had more than just one growler! RandyBrunatti (5) - Ontario, CANADA - JAN 2, 2015 does not count
A golden Pale Ale with a thin white head and lacing. Fruity with some bitterness. Great tasting, very satisfying beer.

This was a pleasant surprise. Light in the nose, cereal/grass predominating. Nice amber pour with moderate carbonation. Very full, rounded palate, nicely bitter but not overpowering. Overall I would definitely buy again - really good introduction to a brewery I hadn’t heard of before. Kudos! Strangebrewer (1308) - Chatham, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 16, 2010
UPDATED: MAR 28, 2014 tap/can. I first tasted this beer at The Chatham Ribfest on tap which, as all good things do it ran out first. Poured hazy orange-amber with a creamy off-white head. Floral hop aroma. Medium bodied, average carbonation. Malty, flavours of rye bread, tart grapefruit. Finish is a bit sticky with pine and more hops. Lingering aftertaste. Acheté LCBO -Atrium on Bay-Toronto. Golden, Mild malt aroma with fleural tropical fruit arome. Ezio (1) - Quebec, CANADA - APR 17, 2014 does not count

UPDATED: MAY 3, 2012 Smells good - grassy hops, very pale, with a hoppiness that lingers nicely. This ale seems to have improved over the past year or so.
