1,5l plastic bottle as Rainbow kotikalja. Poured brown colored with no head. Mostly syrup and liquid bread in aroma and flavor. Artificial, sweet. Quite horrible really.

1 500 ml plastic bottle as Rainbow Kotikalja/Svagdricka. BB 03/11/13. (Prisma) Helsinki, Finland.

Dark brown colour with a small off-white head.
The aroma is rye bread, malty sweetness and
The flavour is dryer with rye bread, mild tartness and hints of citrus.
Not bad but not traditional kotikalja either.

taunusmies (385) - FINLAND - FEB 1, 2013
Murky brown colour, minimal off-white head. Taste has a lot of artificial sweetness, lightly malty. A hint of raisins and rye bread. Thin, watery mouthfeel, fizzy carbonation.

esox (1226) - Oulu, FINLAND - JAN 11, 2010
1,5l plastic bottle. Hazy dark reddish brown beer. Thin, soda-like head is white and diminishing. The aroma has rather nice rye maltiness, sugar and a hint of berriness(maybe red currants). Hops are much absent in the aroma. Quite pleasant, mellow rye-bready malty finsh. The taste is sweet, even sugary, but also minor sourness of rye and very light bitterness in the finish. Light to medium bodied, soda-like and carbonation. Slick texture. Better than I thought.

ThomasE (5174) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - MAY 7, 2008

liinis (1791) - Helsinki, FINLAND - APR 7, 2008
Can’t recommend this one. dirty beige head dark brown liquid. nothing to do with its name "traditional home brew"
