Sweet aroma with a hint of sour. Golden straw color, slightly hazy. Citrus taste with hints of banana. Hop bitterness shows at the end. Sharp effervescence. Maxbier (999) - Maryland, USA - DEC 13, 2014
UPDATED: DEC 23, 2014 On tap at source. Pours light yellow and white head. Grassy citrus Booz aroma. Taste is better than your average Berliner. Funk, tart and citrus. Nicely balanced with the higher ABV than most Berliners (perhaps why I liked it better- abv balances the tartness nicely). Nice. j12601 (12601) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - SEP 12, 2011
On tap for growler fills at Half Time. Pours a slightly murky golden amber with a small white head. Soft banana and wheat on the nose. Medium bodied, gentle lemony tartness, light acid and a bit more banana again. Finishes with a bit of wheat sweetness and a light amount of tartness and a touch of acid. Seems a little less like a Berliner Weiss, and more like a batch of a wheat beer that started to go a bit off and was turned into something else. Still rather tasty. Pours a cloudy straw blonde and very aromatic. Seems more tart than sour, but it’s certainly easy to drink on a hot summer day. Tastes like a traditional hefeweizen with a twist of lemon. Thinking this would be great in the traditional Berlin-style adding framboise or kriek syrup. A great brewery does it again.
