On tap at Basement Beer Bar. A big dark beige head settled on top of a black body. The aroma is on the roasted side, with some licorice and alcohol, oat, coffee and a touch of heavy caramel sauce. The caramel sauce is very dominant in the mouth, but theres still plenty of room for roasted malts and oats, licorice and coffee. Theres some alcohol too. Its full bodied, warming and smoothly carbonated, lightly sticky on the palate. Everlasting caramel sauce, licorice, coffee and roasted malts finish, with the coffee more pronounced as the beer warms up slightly. Perhaps a bit alcoholic for the ABV, but its a tasteful and complex beer I wouldnt mind having again on a later occasion. 160622

Bitter, roasty flavour, with sweetish notes of caramel malt and touches of coffee and liquorice. Bitter, roasty and coffeelike aftertaste. Warming alcohol presence. Decent stuff.
