Bottle 500 ml from bursprak, thanks Erik! Into a snifter, ABV 5.5%
Pours a black beer with one finger of brown head. Average retention, light lacing left on the glass.
Aroma of chocolate, some red fruits too, red wine notes in there.
Taste of chocolate, toasted malts, red grapes and fruits. Mildly bitter on the finish and on the aftertaste, with quite long duration.
Medium bodied with good carbonation. Nice dryness on the palate.
Overall good schwarzbier, with a fruity twist.

Bryg No. 008a – 7 / 3 / 7 / 3 / 12
Bottle. 5.5%. No best before date. Pours black with a diminishing khaki head. Sweetish roasted aroma, stout-like. Flavour is sweetish and roasted, with a light berry-like tartness. Bitter, roasted coffee finish with a sweet note. Coffee bitterness lingering as well as a tart note. Overall decent. 23.03.13.
Bryg No. 008b – 6 / 3 / 6 / 3 / 11
Bottle. 5.5%. Best before 10.13. Pours black with a diminishing khaki head, a bit darker than the 008a and more fluffy. Sweetish roasted aroma, slightly tart and with a metallic note. Tart, sweet roasted flavour with a light greasy overtone. Finish is dry and roasted with lingering notes of coffee and grass. Overall okay, if a bit cloying. 23.03.13.
Overall, although pretty similar, the 008a is a bit better than the 008b; more balanced and just a bit better aroma and flavour, and also more on the stout-side, although both seems closer to a stout than a schwarzbier. The 008b has more sweetness to it and a slightly greasy palate, which makes it a bit cloying.
Aroma is very licorice. Small, frothy head. Moderate bitter flavor with notes of coffee and licorice. Medium palate.

Bottle 50 cl. Black pour with a nice brown head. Aroma is very nice and roasted, clear chocolate notes, sweet liquorice, rather roasted, notes of burnt caramel and Danish rye bread. Taste is roasted, notes of chocolate and coffee, burnt caramel. The palate is round and balanced, the body is light and refreshing. Definitely one of the best schwarzbiers i’ve had. POLK (2219) - Hørning, DENMARK - AUG 22, 2011
Lovely black schwarzbier with a pleasant soft fragrance of dark roasted malt. The taste is soft and fruity, yet slightly sweet. The foam is also extremely good. All in all an interesting and fairly successful beer from Randers Brewery. Camons (13031) - Hasselager, DENMARK - MAY 10, 2011
