Pours a nice hazed golden orange color with a large white head. The smoke really stands out on this. There is a bit of saison character underneath the smoke and charred wood. A light citrus quality and tartness, a bit of grass, and some floral and herbal notes. The flavor is also dominated by the smoke. Quite dry and lightly tart. Some charred oak, lemon peel, orange peel, and a bit of cracker malt. Light pepper and herb flavors with just a few hints of sweet fruit. djd07 (15356) - Houston, Texas, USA - SEP 29, 2012
Bottle. Pours a cloudy orange with a thick creamy off white head leaving sticky lacing along the glass. The aroma is a bready malt, pepper snd citrus. Medium mouthfeel with a buttery smoke and pepper with lingering dry finish. A good saison from Ranger Creek. Ratman197 (15228) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - MAR 7, 2013
375 ml bottle courtesy of Bu11zeye (thanks Markus) poured a clear gold with a large lasting white head. Aromas of citrus, straw, smoke and fruittiness. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of smoke, straw, light fruittiness and a hint of spice with a smooth lingering fruity smokey finish. bu11zeye (13139) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - SEP 12, 2012
(Draught) Pours a hazy golden body with a small white head. Aroma of orange, florals, herbs, and smoke. Flavor of smoke, pepper, stone fruit, herbs, and yeast. daknole (11050) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - APR 30, 2013
Yellow pour, white head Odd beer. The smoked wood seems at odd with the saison yeast, a bit vegetal. Not my style.

Waxed bottle sent by a buddy in League City- thanks again, Bryan! Pours a clear golden color with an orange hue and two fingers of foamy cream-colored head. Lots of rising carbonation but no sediment since I poured carefully. Aroma of bready malts, grass, straw, sugar, and overripe peaches. Flavor of spicy hops, sweet and bready malts, pepper, grass, apricot, and a lingering metallic note late. Medium-bodied, with medium-high carbonation and a mouthfeel that starts sweet, becomes metallic, and finishes dry. Sub-par saison. bytemesis (9024) - Sunnyvale, California, USA - NOV 21, 2012
Bottle. Pours completely cloudy amber yellow with a large off-white head that mostly dissipates quickly leaving a small creamy residue that laces nicely. Aroma is typical saison with strong yeast and lemon notes plus some spiciness. Flavor is quite smoky, woody, and yeasty, with notes of lemon and pepper. Very light sweetness leading to a dry smoky finish. Medium body, prickly carbonation. Quite interesting, actually. drowland (8955) - Georgia, USA - SEP 15, 2012
9/15/12. 12oz bottle thanks to Walt! Hazy dark orange pour, maybe light amber, with a huge off-white head that lasts forever and laces plenty. Light smoke in the aroma that comes across almost as a barbecue sweetness, as well as sweet, fruity esters, plenty of spicy phenolics, some lemon, and some definite lingering dryness. Light, sweet smoke in the flavor that shows itself more and more as a meaty aspect as it warms with plenty of sweet fruitiness, tangy wheat malt, fruity esters, phenolics, and lingering dryness and citrus. drfabulous (8489) - Lexington, Kentucky, USA - OCT 15, 2012
Sampled at GABF. Yeasty with odd apricot taste that left me a little not sure about this one. SudsMcDuff (8469) - .....Manchester United.........., Texas, USA - AUG 22, 2012
