The aroma and the taste were both malty sweet, but had a strange element I could only describe as freezer burn. This was minor though. The palate was a little watery, but there was also a nice zest.
Keg at the brewery. Reddish brown. Clear and a bit thin looking. Light caramel malt with raisin and prune. Light malty sweet taste with notes of raisin throughout. Hop bitterness pervades, providing a nice balance. Clean finish with some cinnamon apple in the aftertaste. I like it. Clarkdvm (516) - Florida, USA - APR 17, 2015
Draft at source. First couple sips were the best. Beer wore on me though. Bit thin. Dark pour. Metallic aftertaste. Decent Rustyham (1836) - St. Petersburg, Florida, USA - JAN 16, 2015
Sweet, roasty, malty, very light but with a whisky aftertaste. It’s light on mouthfeel, but the aftertaste really sits there and fills your mouth with some great complexities. hopscotch (11177) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - SEP 16, 2014
Draft... Pours dark copper and crystal clear with a white head. Try as I might, I can’t smell much here. I do finally pick up some malty toastiness. Full-bodied with pillow-soft carbonation. The flavor is a marriage of roasty and toasty malts that are answered by an equal measure of hop bitterness. Finishes bittersweet and lightly acrid. fluffy (2472) - St Petersburg, Florida, USA - MAY 12, 2014
My first time with the style, basically reminded me of a thinner brown ale. Passable but not super interesting.

Probably seems "watery" because it’s 6.4%. Clean, balanced bitterness to maltiness to style. stevencon (522) - Sarasota, Florida, USA - DEC 30, 2013
Tap at rapp. Muddy brownish red with with toasted grain light yeast notes. Light body with light toast. Taste is a bit watery. Not as much flavor as I was expecting. swoopjones (7020) - Buffalo, New York, USA - NOV 11, 2013
draft at rapp, copper amber pour, medium body, caramel malty sweetness, slight coffee notes. Decent
