Valley Brew Hoptimism - India Black Ale

Formerly brewed at Valley Brewing Company
Stockton, California USA
8% Black IPA | 3 Ratings | Special Release |
Brewed as a collaborative effort between Valley Brewing Company, Sacramento Brewing Company and Auburn Alehouse. Brewers Steve Altimari, Peter Hoey and Brian Ford collaborated on this beer. It is a beer brewed to honor the illustrious IPA but with a twist, the Pale concept was tossed out the window and a jet black beer was brewed with the flavor profile of a true West Coast Style Ale. 150 pounds of fresh hops (Amarillo, Simco and Centennial) were used in the hop back for a 30 BBL batch along with 22 lbs of Magnum in the 90 minute boil. It is big and in your face hoppy. It will be released by all three breweries in early October.
