Flat Branch Old Cave Dweller Barley Wine (2011)

Formerly brewed at Flat Branch Pub & Brewing
Columbia, Missouri USA
8% Barley Wine | 2 Ratings | 65 IBU | Winter Seasonal |
Our Barley Wine is a rich winter ale that is equally a dessert beer. This years brew used German Kolsch malt for the base malt, along with a small addition of crystal and wheat malt. American Cascade hops were used for the flavoring hop additions. The overall profile is well balanced between malt and hops. This years brew is slightly on the dry side, allowing the hops to add complexity with a slight citrus flavor and medium bitterness. The bitterness is calculated at 65 BU’s, but is probably higher, and alcohol at 8.0% ABV. This is a great winter warmer. Come in and try it for yourself!
