The Kölsch style is a hybrid between an ale and a lager that is protected by the Kölsch Konvention in and around Koln, GER. The Konvention simply defines the beer as a "light, highly attenuated, hop-accentuated, clear top-fermenting Vollbier." Our version of Kölsch uses Pilsener and Koln malt, Noble hops, and is fermented with a lager yeast at ale temperatures. Moerlein Philippus Kirche Kolsch is a clean, crisp, delicately balanced beer, with a soft malt presence and a dry finish. Enjoy Moerlein Philippus Kirche Kolsch with the French Onion and Wild Mushroom Soup, the Chicken Parmesean Penne, or the Caprese Flatbread.
