Brewed by Free State Brewing Company
Our 2nd annual collaboration with 23rd St. Brewery and Blind Tiger Brewery in honor of American Craft Beer Week is a bold and wonderful example of Craft Beer’s commitment to tradition, collaboration, and innovation. This is a Grätzer/Grodziskie (pronounced great sir); a pale-straw, 100% Oak Smoked-Wheat beer that dominated Polish beer production from the 1400s until the last commercial producer shuttered in the 1990s and the style, sadly, fell into extinction. The beer has a light, but firm smoke character, a dense and rocky head, a hint of tartness from the wheat malt, and the slightly spicy character of Polish Lublin hops. Exceedingly effervescent, delicate, and refreshing, this is a beer style to be embraced once again. Fear not the smoke.
